Abstract

A method of, and a system capable of, replaying a portion of a video comprising the steps of, and the means for receiving, during a playing of a video, a replay request to replay a portion of a video, the replay request comprising a voice command; storing a request position of the playing of the video responsive to the replay request; skipping, responsive to the replay request, the video to a replay position that is responsive to a preestablished replay preference amount adjusted by segment information subject to an override range; enabling a playing of supplementary information; playing the video and the supplementary information from the replay position; and discontinuing the playing of supplementary information responsive to the request position responsive to a preestablished replay preference amount adjusted by segment information subject to an override range. The supplementary information including, for example, subtitles, substitution of the audio language, different camera angles, other textual, video, and/or audio information that may supplement, complement, the information being played, and/or substitute, the audio dialogue and/or segment of a video; and/or any information which may be utilized to elucidate, illuminate, illustrate, clarify, and/or explain, during a replay, a portion of a video.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A method of replaying a portion of a video comprising the steps of:
receiving, during a playing of a video, a replay request to replay a portion of a video; storing a request position of the playing of the video responsive to the replay request; skipping, responsive to the replay request, the video to a replay position that is responsive to a preestablished replay preference; enabling a playing of supplementary information; playing the video and the supplementary information from the replay position; and discontinuing the playing of supplementary information responsive to the request position.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the replay request is a voice command.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the skipping is responsive to a preestablished replay preference amount adjusted by segment information.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the skipping is responsive to a preestablished replay preference amount adjusted by segment information subject to an override range.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the preestablished replay preference is defined by segment information.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the skipping is increased by a contemporaneous subsequent replay request.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the skipping is responsive to a system preestablished replay preference amount, adjusted by segment information, and increased by a contemporaneous subsequent replay request.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the replay request is a voice command; and wherein the playing of supplementary information comprises substituting an audio language played prior to the replay request with a different audio language.

9 . A method of replaying a portion of a video comprising the steps of:
receiving, during a playing of a video, a replay request to replay a portion of a video; storing a request position of the playing of the video responsive to the replay request; skipping, responsive to the replay request, the video to a replay position that is responsive to a preestablished replay preference; enabling a playing of subtitles; playing the video and the subtitles from the replay position; and discontinuing the playing of subtitles responsive to the request position.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the replay request is a voice command.

11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the skipping is responsive to a preestablished replay preference amount adjusted by segment information.

12 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the skipping is increased by a contemporaneous subsequent replay request.

13 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the skipping is responsive to a system preestablished replay preference amount, adjusted by segment information, and increased by a contemporaneous subsequent replay request.

14 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the replay request is a voice command; and wherein the subtitles played are in a language different from an audio language played.

15 . A system capable of replaying a portion of a video comprising:
a user interface means for receiving, during a playing of a video, a replay request to replay a portion of a video; a memory means for storing a request position of the playing of the video responsive to the replay request; a random accessing means for skipping, responsive to the replay request, the video to a replay position that is responsive to a preestablished replay preference; a processing means for enabling a playing of supplementary information; playing the video and the supplementary information from the replay position; and discontinuing the playing of supplementary information responsive to the request position.

16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the replay request is a voice command.

17 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the skipping is responsive to a preestablished replay preference amount adjusted by segment information.

18 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the skipping is increased by a contemporaneous subsequent replay request.

19 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the skipping is responsive to a system preestablished replay preference amount, adjusted by segment information, and increased by a contemporaneous subsequent replay request.

20 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the replay request is a voice command; and wherein the playing of supplementary information comprises substituting an audio language played prior to the replay request with a different audio language.
