Abstract

An enzymatic RNA molecule which specifically cleaves mRNA encoded by an mdr-1 gene.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An enzymatic RNA molecule which is active to specifically cleave mRNA expressed from an mdr 1 gene.

2 . The enzymatic RNA molecule of claim 1 which cleaves the sequence shown as any of SEQ. ID. NOS. 1-9.

3 . The enzymatic RNA molecule of claim 1 wherein said RNA molecule is in a hammerhead motif.

4 . The enzymatic RNA molecule of claim 1 wherein said RNA molecule is in a hairpin, hepatitis Delta virus, group 1 intro, or RnaseP RNA motif.

5 . A mammalian cell including an enzymatic RNA molecule of claim 1 .

6 . A mammalian cell including an enzymatic RNA molecule of claim 2 .

7 . A mammalian cell including an enzymatic RNA molecule of claim 3 .

8 . A mammalian cell including an enzymatic RNA molecule of claim 4 .

9 . The cell of claim 5 , wherein said cell is a human cell.

10 . The cell of claim 6 , wherein said cell is a human cell.

11 . The cell of claim 7 , wherein said cell is a human cell.

12 . The cell of claim 8 , wherein said cell is a human cell.

13 . An expression vector including nucleic acid encoding the catalytic RNA molecule of any of claim 1 , in a manner which allows expression of that enzymatic RNA molecule within a mammalian cell.

14 . An expression vector including nucleic acid encoding the catalytic RNA molecule of any of claim 2 , in a manner which allows expression of that enzymatic RNA molecule within a mammalian cell.

15 . An expression vector including nucleic acid encoding the catalytic RNA molecule of any of claim 3 , in a manner which allows expression of that enzymatic RNA molecule within a mammalian cell.
