Abstract

The present invention may be regarded as a stackable container lid for a first container. The stackable container lid includes a raised support surface defined by a support wall. The support wall is supported by a plurality of support ribs. The raised support surface is configured to support a bottom surface of a second container which is the same size and shape as the first container. The stackable container lid also includes a side surface which is complementary shape and slightly larger in size than the rim defining the opening of the first container such that the container lid fits over the opening of the first container. The second container can be stacked on the first container when the lid is on the first container.

What is claimed is:

1 . A container lid configured to fit a first container, the first container comprising a bottom surface having a size and a shape, and a side surface extending upwardly from the bottom surface, the side surface having an upper edge forming a rim defining an opening in the first container, the container lid comprising:
a raised support surface defined by a support wall which is supported by a plurality of support ribs, the raised support surface configured to be complementary in size and shape to a bottom surface of a second container the bottom surface of the second container having a size and shape that is the same as the size and shape of the bottom surface of the first container, the raised support surface configured to support the bottom surface of the second container; and a side surface that is complementary in shape and slightly larger in size than the rim defining the opening of the first container such that the container lid fits over the opening of the first container; a connecting surface connecting the side surface to the raised support surface; wherein the second container can be stacked on the first container lid when the first container lid is covering the opening of the first container.

2 . The container lid of claim 1 , wherein the container lid is manufactured from a transparent material.

3 . The container lid of claim 1 , wherein the container lid is manufactured from a semi-transparent material.

4 . The container lid of claim 1 , wherein the container lid is manufactured from a plastic material.

5 . The container lid of claim 1 , wherein the shape of the bottom surface of the second container is a geometric shape comprising a plurality of straight edges and a plurality of corners.

6 . The container lid of claim 5 , wherein the shape of the bottom surface of the second container is a square.

7 . The container lid of claim 5 , wherein each of the plurality of support ribs abuts one of the corners of the raised support surface.

8 . The container lid of claim 1 , wherein the container lid further comprises a hole configured to allow air to enter into the container.

9 . The container lid of claim 1 , wherein the first container and the second container are candle containers.
