Abstract

A lid for an air-tight container is composed of a base and a seal. The base has a circular groove defined in a bottom face thereof. The seal has a circular extension formed to correspond to the circular groove. When the circular extension is received in the circular groove, the engagement between the base and the seal is secured.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A lid for an air-tight container, the lid comprising:
a base having a circular groove defined in a bottom face of the base; and a rubber seal with a circular extension extending from a face of the rubber seal to correspond to the circular groove so that after the circular extension of the rubber seal is received in the corresponding circular groove of the base, an engagement between the base and the rubber seal is secured, wherein an inner diameter of the circular extension is slightly smaller than an inner of the circular groove such that when the circular extension is inserted into the circular groove, the elasticity of the seal will ensure that the seal stays in place with respect to the base.

2 . The lid as claimed in claim 1 further comprising a step formed adjacent to the circular extension to correspond to the bottom face of the base such that an engagement between the step and the bottom face of the base secures air-tight engagement of the container.
