Independent display device and optional display methods

Abstract

A free-standing, optionally securable display system comprising a base “( 4 )” wherein a security protrusion “( 16 ) ” is attached to the base “( 4 )” wherein a lock and chain can be inserted through a security cavity “( 18 )” in the security protrusion “( 16 )” to enhance display device security from theft, an upright support member “( 5 )” joined to the base “( 4 ),” a housing assembly comprised of a housing base “( 6 ),” housing walls “( 8 ),” housing rails “( 22 ),” and transparent housing panels “( 10 )” joined to the support member “( 5 ),” a partition “( 12 )” inserted into the panel cavity “( 46 )” created by joining the housing assembly members together whereby the partition “( 12 )” is pinned in and supported by housing assembly members, and a lid “( 14 )” supported by the housing assembly whereby the lid “( 14 )” rests on or is supported by the housing assembly. Commonly accepted manufacturing processes join the Independent Display Device components together whereby three functional assemblies are produced in the preferred embodiment comprising the base “( 4 ),” support member “( 5 ),” and housing assembly as the first functional assembly, the partition “( 12 )” as the second functional assembly, and the lid “( 14 )” as the third functional assembly, though other designs are possible. Once manufactured, no tools are required to assemble or disassemble the three functional assemblies primarily designed to display outdoors and standard-sized paper in a securable, weather-resistant manner. Alternative design embodiments function indoors. Independent Display Device components designate optional design and utility permutation parameters including AC and DC illuminated devices, a three or four-sided display product, and many other indoor or outdoor designs necessary to satisfy consumer selection in the marketplace. Definitions To rest on: Any Independent Display Device component is considered resting on another object if a plurality of edge(s) of the highest location Independent Display Device component touches any surface of another Independent Display Device component. Component: Any surface or object manufactured of material of certain shape on the Independent Display Device that supports, connects to, joins, rests on, or attaches to any other Independent Display Device component surface. Bases: Though primarily designed to support all other Independent Display Device components, bases are Independent Display Device components manufactured of material of certain shape that support, connect, join, rest on, attach to, or insert into any other Independent Display Device component. Bases are surfaces to hold illumination devices, surfaces to display material, and are a means to attach or join any a plurality of Independent Display Device components to other Independent Display Device components. Support members: While primarily designed to connect bases to housings, support members are Independent Display Device components manufactured of material of certain shape that support, connect, join, rest on, attach to, or insert into any other Independent Display Device component. Support members are surfaces to hold illumination devices, surfaces to display material ,and are a means to attach or join any a plurality of Independent Display Device components to other Independent Display Device components. Housings or housing assembly: While primarily designed to rest on support members, support lids and hold partitions housings are Independent Display Device components manufactured of material of certain shape that support, connect, join, rest on, attach to, or insert into any other Independent Display Device component. Housings are surfaces to hold illumination devices, surfaces to display material, and are a means to attach or join any a plurality of Independent Display Device components to other Independent Display Device components. A housing or housing assembly is primarily comprised of the housing base, housing walls, housing rails and housing panels. Housing bases: While primarily designed to rest on support members and hold housing walls, housing bases are Independent Display Device components manufactured of material of certain shape that support, connect, join, rest on, attach to, or insert into any other Independent Display Device component. Housing bases are surfaces to hold illumination devices, surfaces to display material, and are a means to attach or join any a plurality of Independent Display Device components to other Independent Display Device components. Partitions are surfaces to hold illumination devices, surfaces to display material, and are a means to attach or join any a plurality of Independent Display Device components to other Independent Display Device components. Housing rails: While primarily designed to overhang lids, housing rails are Independent Display Device components manufactured of material of certain shape that support, connect, join, rest on, attach to, or insert into any other Independent Display Device component; may be used as a surface to hold illumination devices; may be used as a surface to display materials. Housing rails are surfaces to hold illumination devices, surfaces to display material, and are a means to attach or join any a plurality of Independent Display Device components to other Independent Display Device components. Lids: While primarily designed to rest on housings, lids are Independent Display Device components manufactured of material of certain shape that support, connect, join, rest on, attach to, or insert into any other Independent Display Device component. Lids are surfaces to hold illumination devices, surfaces to display material, and are a means to attach or join any a plurality of Independent Display Device components to other Independent Display Device components. Cavities: An absence of space within the Independent Display Device created by Independent Display Device component utility or design.

What is claimed is:  
     
         1 ) A Independent Display Device with a plurality of components for viewing or attaching material comprising: 
 (a) a plurality of bases, a plurality of support members, a plurality of partitions, and a plurality of lids manufactured of material of certain shape whereby said components are a means to support, rest on, or attach objects of weight and mass wherein said components join in design or utility other said components at certain angles,    (b) a plurality of bases manufactured of material of certain shape whereby said bases are solid or have a plurality of cavities whereby said bases are a means to support objects of weight and mass wherein said objects are a means to produce stability in said bases,    (c) a plurality of housings manufactured of material of certain shape comprised of a plurality of housing bases, a plurality of housing walls, a plurality of housing rails, and a plurality of housing panels whereby said housings are a means to support, rest on, or attach objects of weight and mass wherein said housings join in design or utility other said components at certain angles,    (d) said components whereby said components are optional in said Independent Display Device design wherein said components optionally interconnect for efficient retail packaging, consumer assembly, and manufactured utility,    
     
     
         2 ) an Independent Display Device of  claim 1  configured to have a plurality of fastening elements manufactured of material of certain shape whether said fastening elements join or attach in utility or design said bases, said support members, said housing bases, said housing walls, said housing rails, or said lids whereby said fastening elements are a means to secure, join, or attach said components to each other by means of commonly accepted manufacturing processes,  
     
     
         3 ) an Independent Display Device of  claim 1  configured to have a plurality of cavities whereby said cavities are a means of adapting or supporting a removable door, revealing natural light illumination, or allowing air circulation within said Independent Display Device,  
     
     
         4 ) an Independent Display Device of  claim 1  comprising a plurality of illumination devices attached to said components whereby said components are a means to support, fasten ,or attach said illumination devices to said Independent Display Device wherein said illumination devices are a means of artificial light illumination of said Independent Display Device,  
     
     
         5 ) an Independent Display Device of  claim 1  configured to have: 
 (a) said bases,  
 (b) said support members wherein said support members join in design or utility said bases at angles,  
 (c) said housings wherein said lids join in design or utility said support members at angles,  
 
     
     
         6 ) an Independent Display Device of  claim 1  configured to have: 
 (a) said bases,  
 (b) said support members wherein said support members join in design or utility said bases at angles,

 (c) said housing rails manufactured of material of certain shape wherein said housing rails join in design or utility said walls at angles,

 (a) wherein said components have a plurality of grooves, a plurality of slots, a plurality of slits, a plurality of notches, a plurality of nipples, or a plurality of holes, or a plurality of planar members having two or more opposed major faces whereby said components are a means of attaching, mating, joining, resting on, supporting, or attaching in design or utility said components to additional said components,  
 (b) to support said components wherein said components contain said grooves, said slots, said slits, said notches, said nipples, said holes, or said planar members having two or more opposed major faces whereby said components are a means of mating, resting on, or attaching in design or utility said components to additional said components,  
 (c) whereby said components are connected in design or utility by means of a plurality of adhesives, other commonly accepted manufacturing processes, or combinations of adhesives and other commonly accepted manufacturing processes,  
 
     
     
         15 ) an Independent Display Device of  claim 1  configured to have a plurality of display objects manufactured of material of certain shape whether said display objects comprise said bases, said support members, said housing bases, said housing walls, said housing rails, said housing rails, said partitions, or said lids whereby: 
 (a) said display objects are a means to display material,  
 (b) said display objects are a means to connect, overhang, insert into, protrude from, rest on, or join in design or utility to other said components or said display objects,
