Abstract

A transgenic animal with alterations in an H2-O gene is prepared by introduction of an altered H2-O gene into a host animal. The resulting transgenic animals produce a substantially greater frequency of high affinity antibodies compared to H2-O wild type animals. A method for the production of high affinity antibodies is disclosed.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A method for the production of B-cells, comprising:
 a) immunizing an H2-O−/− mouse with a sufficient amount of an antigen to produce an immune response; and b) collecting B-cells from said immunized mouse.

2 . A method for the production of antibodies, comprising:
 a) immunizing an H2-O−/− mouse with a sufficient amount of an antigen to cause antibody production; and b) collecting antibodies from said immunized mouse.
