Abstract
A hair curler device comprises a cylindrical body portion with animal-shaped components attached at the ends of the body portion. The animal-shaped components increase the enjoyment and decrease the tedium of using hair curlers, especially for young, pre-teen, teenage and adolescent females.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A hair curler comprising a body portion about which hair is adapted to be wrapped, an animal head portion attached to the body portion and means for holding the hair to the body portion.
2 . The hair curler of claim 1 , including an animal hind portion attached to the body portion.
3 . The hair curler of claim 2 , including an animal tail attached to the animal hind portion.
4 . The hair curler of claim 3 , wherein the animal tail comprises a bendable wire.
5 . The hair curler of claim 4 , wherein the bendable wire is covered with a fibrous material.
6 . The hair curler of claim 1 , wherein the body portion has two ends, the animal head portion being attached to one end of the body portion, and including a second body portion pivotably attached to the body portion at the other end of the body portion, the second body portion comprising an animal foreleg portion, an animal underbody portion and an animal hind quarter/hind leg portion, said second body portion comprising said means for holding the hair to the body portion.
7 . The hair curler of claim 6 , including interengaging lips on the animal head portion and the second body portion for latching the second body portion to the animal head portion.
8 . The hair curler of claim 6 , wherein the animal head portion and the second body portion are molded of a plastic material.
9 . The hair curler of claim 6 , wherein the body portion is cylindrically shaped and the animal underbody portion is a curved to fit around a portion of the cylindrically shaped body portion.
10 . The hair curler of claim 2 , wherein the body portion comprises a mesh covered coil spring and has two ends, the animal head portion being attached at one end of the body portion and the animal hind portion being attached at the other end of the body portion.
11 . The hair curler of claim 3 , wherein the tail is pivotably attached to the animal hind portion and is pivotable into engagement with the body portion for holding the hair to the body portion.
12 . The hair curler of claim 11 , including means for biasing the tail into engagement with the body portion.
13 . The hair curler of claim 1 , wherein the animal represented by the animal head portion is one of a squirrel, rabbit, cat or kitten.
14 . A hair curler comprising a first body portion about which hair is adapted to be wrapped, said first body portion having two ends, an animal head portion attached to one end of the first body portion, an animal body portion pivotably attached to the other end of the first body portion.
15 . A hair curler comprising a body portion about which hair is adapted to be wrapped, said body portion having two ends, an animal head portion attached to one end of the body portion, and an animal hind portion attached to the other end of the body portion.
16 . The hair curler of claim 15 , wherein the body portion is tubular shaped, the animal head portion being inserted in the one end of the tubular body portion and the animal hind portion being inserted in the other end of the tubular body portion.
