Abstract

A spinning reel rotor includes a cylindrical portion, first and second rotor arms, a bail arm, and a second cover member. The cylindrical portion is mounted rotatably to one end of a reel unit. The first and a second rotor arms extend in a direction away from the reel unit while being curved outward in radial direction from a position in opposition, with respect to the radial direction, to an end of the cylindrical portion on the reel unit side. An aperture is formed in the second rotor arm. The second cover member covers the outside of the second rotor arm and has through holes for adjusting its mass. The through holes expose a portion of the aperture. In this rotor that has a rotor arm provided with an aperture, variations in the rotational balance of cover members due to different degrees of exposure of the aperture are suppressed.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A spinning reel rotor that is rotatably mounted to a reel unit of a spinning reel for winding fishing line onto a spool, comprising:
a support portion rotatably mounted to one end of the reel unit; first and second rotor arms that are formed on radially opposite positions of said support portion and extend in a direction away from the reel unit while being curved radially outward, at least one of said first and second rotor arms having an aperture; a bail arm provided pivotably at front ends of said first and second rotor arms for guiding fishing line; a cover member covering an outer side of one of said first and second rotor arms that has said aperture, said cover member having an ornamental mass adjustment portion that adjusts a mass of said cover member within a predetermined range.

2 . The spinning reel rotor as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said bail arm includes
first and second bail support members that are pivotably mounted to ends of said first and second rotor arms respectively, a fixed shaft provided at said first bail support member, a line roller rotatably mounted to said fixed shaft, a fixed shaft cover provided at a front end of said fixed shaft, and a bail linking said second bail support member and said fixed shaft cover; and
said aperture is formed in said second rotor arm.

3 . The spinning reel rotor as set forth in claim 1 , wherein
said mass adjustment portion includes at least one through hole perforating said cover member.

4 . The spinning reel rotor as set forth in claim 2 , wherein
said mass adjustment portion includes at least one through hole perforating said cover member, said through hole exposing a portion of said aperture.

5 . The spinning reel rotor as set forth in claim 1 , wherein
said mass adjustment portion includes a depression formed in said cover member.

6 . The spinning reel rotor as set forth in claim 2 , wherein
said mass adjustment portion includes a depression formed in said cover member.

7 . The spinning reel rotor as set forth in claim 3 , wherein
said mass adjustment portion includes a chamfer portion formed around said through hole.

8 . The spinning reel rotor as set forth in claim 4 , wherein
said mass adjustment portion includes a chamfer portion formed around said through hole.

9 . The spinning reel rotor as set forth in claim 5 , wherein
said mass adjustment portion includes a chamfer portion formed around said depression.

10 . The spinning reel rotor as set forth in claim 6 , wherein
said mass adjustment portion includes a chamfer portion formed around said depression.

11 . The spinning reel rotor as set forth in claim 4 , wherein
said mass adjustment portion includes three perforating through holes.

12 . The spinning reel rotor as set forth in claim 11 , wherein
said mass adjustment portion includes a chamfer portion formed around said through holes.

13 . A spinning reel for use with a fishing rod, comprising:
a handle; a reel unit to be mounted on the fishing rod and rotatably supporting said handle; a rotor rotatably supported at a front of said reel unit, said rotor including
a support portion rotatably mounted to one end of said reel unit,
first and second rotor arms that are formed on radially opposite positions of said support portion and extend in a direction away from said reel unit while being curved radially outward, at least one of said first and second rotor arms having an aperture,
 a bail arm provided pivotably at front ends of said first and second rotor arms for guiding the fishing line;
a cover member having an ornamental mass adjustment portion for adjusting a mass of said cover member to be within a predetermined range, said cover member covering an outer side of one of said first and second rotor arms that has said aperture; and
a spool shiftably disposed at a front of said rotor, said rotor winding fishing line around an outer peripheral surface of said spool.

14 . The spinning reel as set forth in claim 13 , wherein
said mass adjustment portion includes at least one through hole perforating said cover member, said through hole exposing a portion of said aperture.

15 . The reel as set forth in claim 14 , wherein
said mass adjustment portion includes a chamfer portion formed around said through hole.

16 . The spinning reel as set forth in claim 13 , wherein
said mass adjustment portion includes a depression formed in said cover member.
