Telescopic cover with imbricated elements

Abstract

A telescopic cover ( 10 ) for areas, such as tennis courts, swimming pools, vehicle bodies or trailers, sheds and the like, comprises a plurality of cover elements ( 12 a , 12 b ) provided with slidable supporting feet ( 21, 23 . . . ) on two opposite sides thereof. At one collecting end there are on each lateral side guides with two inclined runways, to allow superimposed disposition of the cover elements in the retracted condition, whilst along the longitudinal runway (along the sides of the area to be covered) the track is single and can consist of any sufficiently flat supporting surface. In the extended condition, each proximal or rear element ( 12 b ) rests with one distal or front edge ( 12 b ) thereof on the distal element or the one immediately in front ( 28 b ), and with a rear edge thereof, through the supporting feet, on the track.

A telescopic cover for areas, comprising a plurality of cover elements ( 12 ;  112 ;  212 ;  312 ;  412 ;  512 ;  612 ) moveable one with respect to the other between an extended condition, wherein they cover the area, and a retracted condition, wherein they occupy a reduced collecting area and vice versa, said cover elements comprising a cover panel ( 18 ;  118 ;  218 ;  318 ;  418 ;  518 ;  618 ) and at least one sliding foot ( 21 ,  23 ,  25 ,  27 ; etc.) on each side, said sliding feet being slidable on lateral sliding tracks ( 14 ,  16 ; etc.), characterised in that in the extended condition at least one rear panel ( 12   b ) rests on the tracks ( 14 ,  16 ) with the rear sliding feet and rests with a front edge ( 28   b ) thereof on a rear edge ( 30   b ) of a cover element ( 12   a ) immediately in front.  
     
     
         2 . A cover according to  claim 1 , characterised in that on the collecting area each track comprises a pair of parallel inclined runways on each side.

A cover according to  claim 1 , characterised in that the proximal cover element ( 312   z ) is movable vertically for a distance between a lowered position, substantially on a level with the other cover elements in the extended condition, and a raised position, above the level of the other cover elements in the retracted condition.

A cover according to  claim 1  characterised in that the front sliding feet ( 421 ;  521 ) of the cover elements are at an appreciably higher level with respect to the rear sliding feet ( 423 ,  523 ) and in that the ramps ( 434 ;  534 ) for the front feet and the ramps ( 435 ;  535 ) for the rear feet, at the collecting end, are also on different levels corresponding to those of the sliding feet.  
     
     
         5 . A cover according to  claim 4 , wherein in a cover element the front feet are level connected to the front rib.  
     
     
         6 . A cover according to  claim 4 , wherein in a cover element the front feet are mounted in an intermediate position on a longitudinal connecting beam ( 546 ;  646 ).  
     
     
         7 . A cover according to  claim 1 , wherein the cover elements are identical to each other.  
     
     
         8 . A cover according to  claim 1 , characterised in that on each side the front sliding foot ( 521 ;  621 ) and the rear sliding foot ( 523 ;  623 ) are on a different level.  
     
     
         9 . A cover according to  claim 8 , characterised in that on each side said feet are coplanar and in that the runways ( 634 ,  635 ) at the collecting end, on each side, are coplanar.
