Claims
Abstract
A cosmetic which includes from about one to about ten parts ethyl cellulose, from about one to about ten parts of a cosmetic pigment, from about 70 to about 95 parts of an organic solvent, and from about one to about ten parts of an alcohol soluble and water insoluble resin. The resin is a polymer which includes one or more of the following monomers: octylacrylamide, acrylate, butylaminoethyl methacrylate, and methyl methacrylate, hydroxypropyl methacrylate, polyvinyl acetate.

1 . A method for coloring lips, said method comprising:
(a) obtaining a liquid lip cosmetic comprising:
(i) a resin soluble in alcohol and insoluble in water; and
(ii) a pigment; and
(b) applying the liquid lip cosmetic as at least one layer on the lips; and (c) applying at least one gloss layer on the lips.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising an organic solvent in the liquid lip cosmetic.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the liquid lip cosmetic is applied as at least two layers on the lips.
4 . A method for coloring lips, said method comprising:
(a) obtaining a liquid lip cosmetic comprising:
(i) a resin soluble in alcohol and insoluble in water;
(ii) a pigment;
(iii) a film forming cellulose; and
(b) applying the liquid lip cosmetic as at least one layer on the lips.
5 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising an organic solvent in the liquid lip cosmetic.
6 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising applying a composition to the lips to enhance the lip coloring.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the composition comprises a silicone.
8 . A method for coloring lips, said method comprising:
(a) obtaining a liquid lip cosmetic comprising:
(i) a resin soluble in alcohol and insoluble in water, said resin selected from the group consisting of octylacrylamides, acrylamides, acrylates, butylaminoethyl methacrylates, methyl methacrylate, hydroxypropyl methacrylate, and copolymers of the foregoing; and
(ii) a pigment; and
(b) applying the liquid lip cosmetic as at least one layer on the lips.
9 . A method for coloring lips, said method comprising:
(a) obtaining a liquid lip cosmetic comprising:
(i) a resin soluble in alcohol and insoluble in water, said resin selected from the group consisting of octylacrylamides, acrylamides, acrylates, butylaminoethyl methacrylates, methyl methacrylate, hydroxypropyl methacrylate, and copolymers of the foregoing;
(ii) a pigment;
(iii) a cellulose; and
(b) applying the liquid lip cosmetic as at least one layer on the lips.
10 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising an organic solvent in the liquid lip cosmetic.
11 . A method for coloring lips, said method comprising:
(a) obtaining a liquid lip cosmetic comprising:
(i) a pigment;
(ii) a first film that adheres to the lips;
(iii) a second film that adheres to the lips; and
(b) applying the liquid lip cosmetic as at least one layer on the lips.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein said first film in the liquid lip cosmetic is a resin that is soluble in alcohol and insoluble in water.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein said second film in the liquid lip cosmetic is a cellulose.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein said cellulose is ethyl cellulose.
15 . The method of claim 12 , wherein said resin is selected from the group consisting of octylacrylamides, acrylamides, acrylates, butylaminoethyl methacrylates, methyl methacrylate, hydroxypropyl methacrylate, and copolymers of the foregoing.
16 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising applying at least one layer of a composition to the lips to enhance the lip coloring.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the composition comprises a silicone.
18 . A method for applying color to the lips, said method comprising:
(a) obtaining a liquid lip cosmetic comprising:
(i) at least 1% of a resin, wherein said resin is soluble in alcohol and insoluble in water;
(ii) an organic solvent;
(iii) a pigment;
(iv) an adjunct film former; and
(b) applying said liquid lip cosmetic to the lips in at least one layer.
19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein said adjunct film former is a cellulose.
20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein said cellulose is ethyl cellulose.
21 . The method of claim 18 , wherein said resin is selected from the group consisting of octylacrylamides, acrylamides, acrylates, butylaminoethyl methacrylates, methyl methacrylate, hydroxypropyl methacrylate, and copolymers of the foregoing.
22 . A method for coloring lips, said method comprising:
(a) obtaining a liquid lip cosmetic comprising:
(i) an organic solvent;
(ii) a pigment;
(iii) at least 1% of a film-forming resin which is soluble in said organic solvent;
(iv) a film-forming cellulose material which is soluble in said organic solvent; and
(b) applying the liquid lip cosmetic as at least one layer on the lips.
23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein said film-forming cellulose material is ethyl cellulose.
24 . The method of claim 22 , wherein said resin is selected from the group consisting of octylacrylamides, acrylamides, acrylates, butylaminoethyl methacrylates, methyl methacrylate, hydroxypropyl methacrylate, and copolymers of the foregoing.
25 . A kit for applying a lip coloring to lips, said kit comprising in a compartment, a liquid formulation comprising at least one pigment, an organic solvent or carrier, and at least 1% of a resin that is alcohol soluble and water insoluble, and in a separate compartment a gloss.
26 . The kit of claim 25 , further comprising a cellulose.
27 . The kit of claim 26 , wherein the cellulose is ethyl cellulose.
28 . The kit of claim 25 , wherein the gloss comprises a silicone.
29 . The kit of claim 25 , wherein the resin is selected from the group consisting of octylacrylamides, acrylates, butylaminoethyl methacrylates, methyl methacrylate, hydroxypropyl methacrylate, and copolymers of the foregoing.
30 . A liquid lip coloring cosmetic comprising:
(a) a resin soluble in alcohol and insoluble in water; (b) a pigment; and (c) a gloss.
31 . The method of claim 30 , further comprising an organic solvent.
32 . The liquid lip coloring cosmetic of claim 30 , further defined as smearproof and waterproof.
33 . The liquid lip coloring cosmetic of claim 30 , further comprising a cellulose.
34 . The liquid lip coloring of claim 33 , wherein the cellulose is an ethyl cellulose.
35 . A liquid lip coloring cosmetic comprising:
(a) at least one percent resin soluble in alcohol and insoluble in water said resin selected from the group consisting of octylacrylamides, acrylamides, acrylates, butylaminoethyl methacrylates, methyl methacrylate, hydroxypropyl methacrylate, and copolymers of the foregoing; (b) a pigment; and (c) an organic solvent.
36 . A liquid lip coloring cosmetic comprising:
(a) a pigment; (b) a first film that adheres to lips; and (c) a second film that adheres to lips.
37 . The lip coloring of claim 36 , wherein said first film is a cellulose.
38 . The lip coloring of claim 37 , wherein said cellulose is ethyl cellulose.
39 . The lip coloring of claim 36 , wherein said second film is an a resin that is soluble in alcohol and insoluble in water, selected from the group consisting of octylacrylamides, acrylamides, acrylates, butylaminoethyl methacrylates, methyl methacrylate, hydroxypropyl methacrylate, and copolymers of the foregoing.
40 . A liquid lip coloring comprising:
(a) a sealer comprising:
(i) at least 1% of a resin, wherein said resin is soluble in alcohol and insoluble in water; and
(ii) an organic solvent;
(b) a pigment; and (c) an adjunct film former.
41 . The lip coloring of claim 40 , wherein said adjunct film former is a cellulose.
42 . The lip coloring of claim 41 , wherein said cellulose is ethyl cellulose.
43 . The lip coloring of claim 40 , wherein said resin is selected from the group consisting of octylacrylamides, acrylamides, acrylates, butylaminoethyl methacrylates, methyl methacrylate, hydroxypropyl methacrylate, and copolymers of the foregoing.
44 . The liquid lip coloring of claim 40 , further comprising a gloss.
45 . The liquid lip coloring cosmetic of claim 40 , which is applied as multilayers on the lips.
46 . In a cosmetic for coloring the lips containing a resin and a cosmetic pigment, the improvement comprising a resin soluble in alcohol but insoluble in water, said resin selected from the group consisting of octylacrylamides, acrylamides, acrylates, butylaminoethyl methacrylates, methyl methacrylate, hydroxypropyl methacrylate, and copolymers of the foregoing wherein said cosmetic is a liquid.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
