Abstract
An enclosure with removable lid is disclosed herein. In an embodiment disclosed herein, the enclosure is a secret compartment in a guitar string changing tool case, with a magnetically engaged lid that is disengaged from the enclosure by the application of pressure on a portion of the lid.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An enclosure comprising:
a cavity; a lid, sized to cover the cavity; securing means attached to the cavity for releasably engaging and supporting the lid; and pivot means attached to the cavity for supporting the lid and for providing a fulcrum about which the lid pivots under downward pressure on a region not supported by the securing means.
2 . An enclosure, as in claim 1 , further comprising a lip, raised from the bottom of the cavity to a level below the top of the cavity, for supporting the lid.
3 . An enclosure, as in claim 2 , wherein the lip is raised from the bottom of the cavity to a level below the cavity such that when supporting the lid, the lid is flush with the top of the cavity.
4 . An enclosure, as in claim 2 , wherein the securing means is attached to the lip.
5 . An enclosure, as in claim 2 , wherein raised lip contiguously extends around substantially one half of the cavity.
6 . An enclosure, as in claim 5 wherein the pivot means are integral with the terminal edges of the raised lip.
7 . An enclosure, as in claim 2 , wherein the cavity is rectangular.
8 . An enclosure, as in claim 7 , wherein the lip is positioned along one longitudinal side, and half of each transverse side.
9 . An enclosure, as in claim 1 , wherein the securing means includes a magnet.
10 . An enclosure, as in claim 9 , wherein the lid includes a metallic portion, for engagement with the magnet.
11 . An enclosure comprising:
a substantially rectangular cavity having two longitudinal and two transverse sides; a raised lip, contiguously extending along one longitudinal side and substantially one half of each transverse side of the cavity; securing means, attached to the raised lip, and positioned to be substantially centred in the lip with respect to the longitudinal side; and a lid, sized to cover the cavity, for releasable attachment to the securing means, for resting on the raised lip, and for pivoting about the terminal edges of the raised lip under downward pressure on a region of the lid opposite that attached to the securing means.
12 . An enclosure, as in claim 11 , wherein the securing means includes a magnet, and a portion of the lid is ferro-magnetic.
13 . An enclosure, as in claim 11 , wherein the raised lip and the securing means support the lid at a level that makes the top of the lid substantially flush with the top of the cavity.
14 . An enclosure, as in claim 11 , wherein the enclosure is embedded in a guitar string changing tool case.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
