Abstract

A seal 1 having one or more lips 13 constituted of a molded rubber is described, wherein the lips 13 (the whole elastic body 3 ) have been formed so as to have a maximum value of loss tangent (tan δ) of 0.40 or smaller in the temperature range of from 20 to 70° C.

What is claimed is:  
     
         1 . A seal comprising one or more lips comprising a molded rubber, the molded rubber having a maximum value of loss tangent of 0.50 or smaller in the temperature range of from 10 to 120° C.  
     
     
         2 . The seal as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein the molded rubber comprises, as a raw rubber, acrylonitrile/butadiene rubber having acrylonitrile monomer content of from 26 to 36% by weight.  
     
     
         3 . The seal as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber and, as a reinforcing filler, a carbon black in an amount of from 20 to 90 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber.  
     
     
         4 . The seal as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber and, as a reinforcing filler, a white reinforcement in an amount of from 20 to 150 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber.  
     
     
         5 . The seal as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber, and as a reinforcing filler, a mixture of a carbon black and a white reinforcement, the amounts of the carbon black and white reinforcement being from 20 to 100 parts by weight and from 20 to 100 parts by weight, respectively, and the total amount of the two reinforcing ingredients contained being from 50 to 150 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber.  
     
     
         6 . The seal as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber, and as a reinforcing filler, a mixture of a carbon black and a white reinforcement, the amounts of the carbon black and white reinforcement being from 20 to 100 parts by weight and from 20 to 100 parts by weight, respectively, and the total amount of the two reinforcing ingredients contained being from 50 to 150 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber, and the proportion of the carbon black in all reinforcing fillers being from 0.31 to 0.75.  
     
     
         7 . A rolling bearing comprising the seal as claimed in  claim 1 .  
     
     
         8 . A hub unit comprising the seal as claimed in  claim 1 .  
     
     
         9 . A linear guide comprising the seal as claimed in  claim 1 .  
     
     
         10 . A ball screw comprising the seal as claimed in  claim 1 .  
     
     
         11 . A seal comprising one or more lips comprising a molded rubber, the molded rubber having a maximum value of loss tangent of 0.40 or smaller in the temperature range of from 20 to 70° C.  
     
     
         12 . The seal as claimed in  claim 11 , wherein the molded rubber comprises, as a raw rubber, acrylonitrile/butadiene rubber having acrylonitrile monomer content of from 26 to 36% by weight.  
     
     
         13 . The seal as claimed in  claim 11 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber and, as a reinforcing filler, a carbon black in an amount of from 20 to 90 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber.  
     
     
         14 . The seal as claimed in  claim 11 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber and, as a reinforcing filler, a white reinforcement in an amount of from 20 to 150 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber.  
     
     
         15 . The seal as claimed in  claim 11 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber, and as a reinforcing filler, a mixture of a carbon black and a white reinforcement, the amounts of the carbon black and white reinforcement being from 20 to 100 parts by weight and from 20 to 100 parts by weight, respectively, and the total amount of the two reinforcing ingredients contained being from 50 to 150 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber.  
     
     
         16 . The seal as claimed in  claim 11 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber, and as a reinforcing filler, a mixture of a carbon black and a white reinforcement, the amounts of the carbon black and white reinforcement being from 20 to 100 parts by weight and from 20 to 100 parts by weight, respectively, and the total amount of the two reinforcing ingredients contained being from 50 to 150 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber, and the proportion of the carbon black in all reinforcing fillers being from 0.31 to 0.75.  
     
     
         17 . A rolling bearing comprising the seal as claimed in  claim 11 .  
     
     
         18 . A hub unit comprising the seal as claimed in  claim 11 .  
     
     
         19 . A linear guide comprising the seal as claimed in  claim 11 .  
     
     
         20 . A ball screw comprising the seal as claimed in  claim 11 .  
     
     
         21 . A seal comprising one or more lips comprising a molded rubber, the molded rubber having a maximum value of loss tangent of from 0.08 to 0.40 in the temperature range of from 20 to 70° C.  
     
     
         22 . The seal as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein the molded rubber comprises, as a raw rubber, acrylonitrile/butadiene rubber having acrylonitrile monomer content of from 26 to 36% by weight.  
     
     
         23 . The seal as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber and, as a reinforcing filler, a carbon black in an amount of from 20 to 90 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber.  
     
     
         24 . The seal as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber and, as a reinforcing filler, a white reinforcement in an amount of from 20 to 150 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber.  
     
     
         25 . The seal as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber, and as a reinforcing filler, a mixture of a carbon black and a white reinforcement, the amounts of the carbon black and white reinforcement being from 20 to 100 parts by weight and from 20 to 100 parts by weight, respectively, and the total amount of the two reinforcing ingredients contained being from 50 to 150 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber.

The seal as claimed in  claim 21 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber, and as a reinforcing filler, a mixture of a carbon black and a white reinforcement, the amounts of the carbon black and white reinforcement being from 20 to 100 parts by weight and from 20 to 100 parts by weight, respectively, and the total amount of the two reinforcing ingredients contained being from 50 to 150 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber, and the proportion of the carbon black in all reinforcing fillers being from 0.31 to 0.75.

         32 . The seal as claimed in  claim 31 , wherein the molded rubber comprises, as a raw rubber, acrylonitrile/butadiene rubber having acrylonitrile monomer content of from 26 to 36% by weight.  
     
     
         33 . The seal as claimed in  claim 31 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber and, as a reinforcing filler, a carbon black in an amount of from 20 to 90 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber.  
     
     
         34 . The seal as claimed in  claim 31 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber and, as a reinforcing filler, a white reinforcement in an amount of from 20 to 150 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber.

The seal as claimed in  claim 31 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber, and as a reinforcing filler, a mixture of a carbon black and a white reinforcement, the amounts of the carbon black and white reinforcement being from 20 to 100 parts by weight and from 20 to 100 parts by weight, respectively, and the total amount of the two reinforcing ingredients contained being from 50 to 150 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber.

The seal as claimed in  claim 31 , wherein the molded rubber comprises a raw rubber, and as a reinforcing filler, a mixture of a carbon black and a white reinforcement, the amounts of the carbon black and white reinforcement being from 20 to 100 parts by weight and from 20 to 100 parts by weight, respectively, and the total amount of the two reinforcing ingredients contained being from 50 to 150 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the raw rubber, and the proportion of the carbon black in all reinforcing fillers being from 0.31 to 0.75.  
     
     
         37 . A rolling bearing comprising the seal as claimed in  claim 31 .
