Abstract

A system, method and computer program product are provided for User Agent operation. A network site is accessed utilizing a network. User interaction is simulated for navigating the network site based on client specifications. A web page is retrieved from the site. Identifiers are assigned to elements of the web page. The web page is rendered for further processing. Dynamic content of the web page is rendered. The rendered web page is returned to the client in a markup language.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified

1 . A method for user agent operation, comprising:
 (a) accessing a network site utilizing a network; (b) simulating user interaction for navigating the network site based on client specifications; (c) retrieving a web page from the site; (d) assigning identifiers to elements of the web page; (e) rendering the web page for further processing; (f) rendering dynamic content of the web page; and (g) returning the rendered web page to the client in a markup language.

2 . The method as recited in claim 1 , further comprising navigating from the web page.

3 . The method as recited in claim 2 , wherein navigating from the web page includes at least one of selecting links on a web page, submitting forms, and firing scripting events.

4 . The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the client is informed of changed frames.

5 . The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein specified frames are sent to the client.

6 . The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein a network interface is provided.

7 . The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein a Component Object Model (COM) interface is provided.

8 . The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the rendered content is output to a wireless user device.

9 . A computer program product for user agent operation, comprising:
 (a) computer code for accessing a network site utilizing a network; (b) computer code for simulating user interaction for navigating the network site based on client specifications; (c) computer code for retrieving a web page from the site; (d) computer code for assigning identifiers to elements of the web page; (e) computer code for rendering the web page for further processing; (f) computer code for rendering dynamic content of the web page; and (g) computer code for returning the rendered web page to the client in a markup language.

10 . A system for user agent operation, comprising:
 (a) logic for accessing a network site utilizing a network; (b) logic for simulating user interaction for navigating the network site based on client specifications; (c) logic for retrieving a web page from the site; (d) logic for assigning identifiers to elements of the web page; (e) logic for rendering the web page for further processing; (f) logic for rendering dynamic content of the web page; and (g) logic for returning the rendered web page to the client in a markup language.

11 . A method for user agent operation, comprising:
 (a) accessing a network site utilizing a network; (b) simulating user interaction for navigating the network site based on client specifications; (c) retrieving a web page from the site; (d) assigning identifiers to elements of the web page; (e) rendering the web page for further processing; (f) rendering dynamic content of the web page; and (g) returning the rendered web page to the client in a markup language; (h) wherein the client performs further processing.

12 . The method as recited in claim 11 , further comprising navigating from the web page.

13 . The method as recited in claim 12 , wherein navigating from the web page includes at least one of selecting links on a web page, submitting forms, and firing scripting events.

14 . The method as recited in claim 11 , wherein the client is informed of changed frames.

15 . The method as recited in claim 11 , wherein specified frames are sent to the client.

16 . The method as recited in claim 11 , wherein a network interface is provided.

17 . The method as recited in claim 11 , wherein a Component Object Model (COM) interface is provided.

18 . The method as recited in claim 11 , wherein the rendered content is output to a wireless user device.

19 . The method as recited in claim 11 , wherein the further processing includes repeating acts (b)-(g).

20 . A computer program product for user agent operation, comprising:
