Retractable in house open stairwell cover

Abstract

Purpose of cover is to seal basement stairwell opening when basement is not in use. Benefit of cover over basement stairwell is to seal out of living space any and all dampness or cold air drafts, especially in winter climates that come up from basement. Also to save on energy usage, during cold winter months of the year, due to cold air drafts coming up from basement.

1 . A Retractable in House Open Stairwell Cover is to be used for residential or commercial buildings that have been or will be constructed with an open stairwell, within the interior of construction. 
 Cover can be made in different sizes to accommodate various stairwell openings.    Electric motor operation is for ease of opening and closing cover to access basement stairs when necessary. 
 Cover assembly can be made three ways: 
 1.) Pre-construction, where as electric motor cover assembly can be installed into the wall.  
 2.) Existing construction, where as electric motor cover assembly made self-contained and mounted to outside of wall.  
 3.) Manual, where as cover to be made as just a retractable cover. Cover assembly made same as drawings and description of invention with the exception of the electric motor.
