Method for covering a flower pot and floral grouping
Abstract
A method of covering a flower pot with a floral grouping disposed therein. In the method, a sheet of material with a sheet extension connected to the outer peripheral edge of the sheet of material and extending a distance therefrom is formed about the flower pot to a position wherein the sheet of material extends about substantially the entire outer peripheral surface of the flower pot to provide a decorative covering and the sheet extension is formed about the floral grouping to a position wherein the sheet extension extends about a portion of the floral grouping to provide a protective covering. A portion of the sheet of material is then crimped to form a crimped portion in the sheet of material.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method for forming a decorative cover comprising:
providing a sheet of material having an upper surface, a lower surface and an outer peripheral edge and the sheet of material comprising a band of shrink material; providing a flower pot having an upper end, a lower end, an outer peripheral surface and an opening extending through the upper end providing access to a retaining space with the flower pot having an inner peripheral surface encompassing a substantial portion of the retaining space and the flower pot having a bottom formed near the lower end of the flower pot; forming the sheet of material about the flower pot to a position wherein the sheet of material extends about substantially the entire outer peripheral surface of the flower pot with a portion of the sheet of material near the outer peripheral edge thereof extending a distance above the upper end of the flower pot; and causing the band of shrink material to shrink thereby forming a crimped portion in the sheet of material for cooperating to hold the sheet of material in the form of the decorative cover extending about the flower pot and wherein the decorative cover thereby formed has an opening above the upper end of the flower pot.
2 . The method of claim 1 wherein the crimped portion extends circumferentially about the upper end of the flower pot.
3 . The method of claim 1 wherein in the step of providing a sheet of material, the sheet of material is defined further as constructed of a material selected from a group of materials consisting of paper, metal foil, cloth (natural or synthetic), denim, burlap or polymer film or combinations thereof.
4 . The method of claim 1 wherein the step of providing the sheet of material is defined further as comprising:
providing a roll of material;
unrolling a portion of the material from the roll of material; and
separating a portion of the material unrolled from the roll of material to form the sheet of material from the roll of material.
5 . The method of claim 1 wherein the step of providing the sheet of material is defined further as providing a pad comprising the sheets of material.
6 . The method of claim 1 wherein in the step of providing the sheet of material, the sheet of material further comprises a sheet extension extending from the outer peripheral edge and which is detachable via perforations in the sheet of material.
7 . The method of claim 1 wherein in the step of providing a sheet of material the band of shrink material is constructed of a heat shrinkable material.
8 . The method of claim 7 wherein the band of shrink material is caused to shrink by applying heat to the band of shrink material.
9 . The method of claim 1 wherein in the step of providing a sheet of material, the band of shrink material comprises a circular band of shrink material.
10 . A method for forming a decorative cover comprising:
providing a sheet of material having an upper surface, a lower surface and an outer peripheral edge and the sheet of material comprising a band of heat shrink material; providing a flower pot having an upper end, a lower end, an outer peripheral surface and an opening extending through the upper end providing access to a retaining space with the flower pot having an inner peripheral surface encompassing a substantial portion of the retaining space and the flower pot having a bottom formed near the lower end of the flower pot; forming the sheet of material about the flower pot to a position wherein the sheet of material extends about substantially the entire outer peripheral surface of the flower pot with a portion of the sheet of material near the outer peripheral edge thereof extending a distance above the upper end of the flower pot; and causing the band of heat shrink material to shrink thereby forming a crimped portion in the sheet of material for cooperating to hold the sheet of material in the form of the decorative cover extending about the flower pot and wherein the decorative cover thereby formed has an opening above the upper end of the flower pot.
11 . The method of claim 10 wherein the crimped portion extends circumferentially about the upper end of the flower pot.
12 . The method of claim 10 wherein in the step of providing a sheet of material, the sheet of material is defined further as constructed of a material selected from a group of materials consisting of paper, metal foil, cloth (natural or synthetic), denim, burlap or polymer film or combinations thereof.
13 . The method of claim 10 wherein the step of providing the sheet of material is defined further as comprising:
providing a roll of material;
unrolling a portion of the material from the roll of material; and
separating a portion of the material unrolled from the roll of material to form the sheet of material from the roll of material.
14 . The method of claim 10 wherein the step of providing the sheet of material is defined further as providing a pad comprising the sheets of material.
15 . The method of claim 10 wherein in the step of providing the sheet of material, the sheet of material further comprises a sheet extension extending from the outer peripheral edge and which is detachable via perforations in the sheet of material.
16 . The method of claim 10 wherein the band of heat shrink material is caused to shrink by applying heat to the band of heat shrink material.
17 . The method of claim 1 wherein in the step of providing a sheet of material, the band of heat shrink material comprises a circular band of heat shrink material.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
