Wind-actuated novelty device

Abstract

A wind-actuated, spinning novelty display device enabling a user to quickly, easily and interchangeably mount and transport a pinwheel-type rotational display device on a vehicle and to enjoy an active display of a selected logo, mascot depiction, design and/or vocal, thereby enabling a user to demonstrate patriotism, support for a sports team or to display any other personal interest capable of visual and/or audible expression by providing a dynamic showcase for individual interests and/or beliefs.

What is claimed is:  
     
         1 . A wind-actuated display device, comprising: 
 at least one support member, said at least one support member having a display member mount carried proximate to a first end;    a rotational display member, said rotational display member carried by said display member mount of said at least one support member, wherein said rotational display member is generally flat and generally circular shaped; and    a plurality of air receiving and deflecting ports, said plurality of ports carried by said rotational display member and said plurality of ports enabling wind-actuated rotation of said rotational display member.    
     
     
         2 . The wind-actuated display device of  claim 1 , wherein said rotational display member has a central aperture.  
     
     
         3 . The wind-actuated display device of  claim 1 , wherein each said air receiving and deflecting port of said plurality of air receiving and deflecting ports is opposingly positioned relative to each said adjacent air receiving and deflecting port of said plurality of air receiving and deflecting ports to enable the passage of air through said rotational display member in alternating directions.  
     
     
         4 . The wind-actuated display device of  claim 1 , further comprising a device base support, said device base support carried proximate to a second end of said at least one support member.  
     
     
         5 . The wind-actuated display device of  claim 4 , wherein said device base support is a vehicle window mount.  
     
     
         6 . The wind-actuated display device of  claim 1 , further comprising at least one visual effect.  
     
     
         7 . The wind-actuated display device of  claim 6 , wherein said at least one visual effect is removable.  
     
     
         8 . A spinning display novelty device, comprising: 
 a support member, said support member having a display mount carried proximate to a first end;    a wind-actuated spinning display member, said wind-actuated spinning display member carried by said display mount of said support member;    an audible effect generator, said audible effect generator carried by said spinning display novelty device and said audible effect generator capable of activation by rotation of said wind-actuated spinning display member; and    a device base support, said device base support carried proximate to a second end of said support member.    
     
     
         9 . The spinning display novelty device of  claim 8 , wherein said wind-actuated spinning display member is generally circular shaped and has at least one undulating surface, wherein said undulating surface enables wind-actuated rotational movement of said wind-actuated spinning display member.  
     
     
         10 . The spinning display novelty device of  claim 8 , wherein said wind-actuated spinning display member is generally pinwheel shaped.  
     
     
         11 . The spinning display novelty device of  claim 8 , wherein said wind-actuated spinning display member is generally freeform shaped, wherein said freeform shape is capable of utilizing air currents to actuate rotational movement thereof.  
     
     
         12 . The spinning display novelty device of  claim 8 , wherein said audible effect generator is an electronic sound synthesizer.  
     
     
         13 . The spinning display novelty device of  claim 8 , wherein said audible effect generator is powered.  
     
     
         14 . The spinning display novelty device of  claim 13 , wherein said audible effect generator is motion sensor activated.  
     
     
         15 . The spinning display novelty device of  claim 8 , wherein said audible effect generator is a sound emitting and recording device.  
     
     
         16 . The spinning display novelty device of  claim 8 , further comprising at least one illuminated display member.  
     
     
         17 . The spinning display novelty device of  claim 8 , further comprising a rotation-generating motor.  
     
     
         18 . A wind-actuated display device, comprising: 
 at least one elongated support member, said at least one elongated support member having a display member mount carried proximate to a first end;    a rotational display member, said rotational display member carried by said display member mount of said at least one support member;    a plurality of air receiving and deflecting ports, said plurality of ports carried by said rotational display member and said plurality of ports enabling wind-actuated rotation of said rotational display member;    a sound synthesizer, said sound synthesizer carried by said wind-actuated display device and said sound synthesizer capable of operation responsive to rotation of said rotational display member;    a device base support, said device base support carried proximate to a second end of said at least one elongated support member and said device base support enabling removable placement of said wind-actuated display device on a vehicle,    wherein an outer surface of said rotational display member has coloration and indicia.    
     
     
         19 . The wind-actuated display device of  claim 18 , wherein said indicia comprises a licensed logo or brand marking.  
     
     
         20 . The wind-actuated display device of  claim 18 , wherein said sound synthesizer emits a vocal.  
     
     
         21 . The wind-actuated display device of  claim 18 , wherein said sound synthesizer emits a tune.  
     
     
         22 . A method of wind-actuated visual and audible display comprising the steps of: 
 a) obtaining a wind-actuated display device with a support member, a rotational display member, a plurality of air receiving and deflecting ports, said plurality of air receiving and deflecting ports carried by said rotational display member and said plurality of air receiving and deflecting ports enabling wind-actuated rotation of said rotational display member, a sound synthesizer, said sound synthesizer carried by said wind-actuated display device and said sound synthesizer capable of operation responsive to rotation of said rotational display member, and a device base support, said device base support enabling removable placement of said wind-actuated display device on a vehicle;    b) placing said wind-actuated display device on a vehicle;    c) enabling wind-actuation of said rotational display member and said sound synthesizer by collection of moving air.
