Claims

Abstract

A chair has two independent body supports which move in opposite rotation and elevation to one another to change from a chair configuration, one support higher than the other, to a spine tensioning apparatus, supports near equal in elevation. Preferably body supports are spaced apart from one another such that the only interconnecting human link between the two supports, when in a near equal elevation configuration, is the human spine. The spine, in this configuration is then subjected to similar forces as a simple beam supported by two separate forces, tension, compression, shear and moment.

What I claim is:  
     
         1 ) A spine tensioning apparatus comprising: 
 A space defined between an upper body support and a surface,    said space provides an unsupported midsection of an occupant in said space,    a means to transfer said occupant's weight from said surface, across said space, to said upper body support while said occupant remains in said space,    said space, said upper body support and said surface, aide the spine by and through tension, contraction and increased blood flow in addition to providing said occupant the ability for spinal muscle, nerve and soft tissue development and maintenance and increase spinal mobility, flexibility and health of said occupant in said space between said upper body support and said surface.    
     
     
         2 ) A spine tensioning apparatus according to  claim 1  wherein; 
 said upper body support is mounted to an axis,  
 
     
     
         3 ) A spine tensioning apparatus according to  claim 2  wherein; 
 said axis has free or fixed rotation.  
 
     
     
         4 ) A spine tensioning apparatus according to  claim 3  wherein; 
 said space is adjustable.  
 
     
     
         5 ) A spine tensioning apparatus comprising: 
 A space defined between a first and second body support float on a body of water,    said space provides an unsupported midsection of an occupant in said space,    said space, said 1st and said 2nd body support floats, aide the spine by and through tension, contraction and increased blood flow in addition to providing said occupant the ability for spinal muscle, nerve and soft tissue development and maintenance and increase spinal mobility, flexibility and health of said occupant in said space between said 1st and said 2nd body support float on said body of water.    
     
     
         6 ) A spine tensioning apparatus comprising: 
 A space defined between a 1st and 2nd body support,    said space provides an unsupported midsection of an occupant between said 1st and 2nd body support,    a means to alter elevation of said 1st and 2nd body support, relative to said space, while said occupant remains in said space and,    said space, said 1st and said 2nd body support, aide the spine of said occupant by and through tension, contraction and increased blood flow in addition to providing said occupant the ability for spinal muscle, nerve and soft tissue development and maintenance and increase spinal mobility, flexibility and health of said occupant in said space between said 1st and said 2nd body support.    
     
     
         7 ) A spine tensioning apparatus according to  claim 6  wherein said space and said body supports comprise: 
 A 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th space defined between a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th body support.  
 
     
     
         8 ) A spine tensioning apparatus according to  claim 7  wherein said space and said body supports comprise: 
 A 1st, 2nd, and 3rd space defined between a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd body support.  
 
     
     
         9 ) A spine tensioning apparatus according to  claim 8  wherein: 
 Said 1st body support supports the upper portion of said occupant and said 2nd and 3rd body supports support each of said occupant's legs and,  
 Said elevation relationship means of said 2nd and 3rd body support powers a drive assembly,  
 
     
     
         10 ) A spine tensioning apparatus according to  claim 9  wherein: 
 Said drive assembly ads resistance to said elevation relationship means of said 2nd and 3rd body support.
