Cordless telephone unit
Abstract
A main phone of a cordless telephone unit has i) a cordless communicator for establishing cordless communications with a cordless handset; and ii) a voice generator for converting called-party information received from a cordless handset into voice data. On the other hand, a cordless handset has voice-data output section for reading out the voice data. Called-party information received from the cordless handset is converted into voice data at the voice generator then returned to the cordless handset. Receiving the voice data from the main phone, the cordless handset reads it out prior to placing a call. Sharing the voice generating function of the main phone with the cordless handset can thus provide the handset with a voice-generator-free structure.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A main phone employed for a cordless telephone unit establishing cordless communications between a cordless handset and the main phone connected to a telephone line, the main phone comprising:
i) a voice generator for converting called-party information received from the cordless handset into voice data; and ii) a communicator for returning the called-party information after voice-conversion to the cordless handset.
2 . A cordless handset employed for a cordless telephone unit establishing cordless communications between the cordless handset and a main phone connected to a telephone line, the cordless handset comprising:
i) a communicator for transmitting called-party information to the main phone; and ii) a voice-data output section for outputting voice data corresponding to the called-party information returned from the main phone.
3 . The cordless handset as defined in claim 2 further comprising a display section for showing the called-party information thereon.
4 . The cordless handset as defined in claim 2 further comprising an electronic telephone list for storing the called-party information therein.
5 . The cordless handset as defined in claim 2 , wherein the called-party information includes information on a name and a telephone number.
6 . The cordless handset as defined in claim 2 further comprising an operating section for accepting the called-party information,
wherein each time said operating section accepts a number entered by a user, said communicator transmits information on the number to the main phone.
7 . The cordless handset as defined in claim 2 further comprising an operating section for accepting i) called-party information, and ii) information that requests to quit entry operations.
8 . The cordless handset as defined in claim 7 , wherein the cordless handset makes a request to the main phone via said communicator for quitting a process of converting called-party information in use into voice data, in response to entry-quitting operations accepted at said operating section.
9 . The cordless handset as defined in claim 7 further comprising a display section for showing called-party information thereon,
wherein the cordless handset clears off the called-party information appearing on said display section, in response to entry-quitting operations accepted at said operating section.
10 . The cordless handset as defined in claim 7 , wherein the cordless handset makes a request to the main phone via said communicator for quitting a placing-a-call operation, in response to entry-quitting operations accepted at said operating section.
11 . A cordless telephone unit comprising:
a) a main phone including:
a-1) a voice generator; and
a-2) a communicator; and
b) a cordless handset including:
b-1) a voice-data output section,
wherein said main phone connected to a telephone line has cordless communications with said cordless handset, said voice generator converts called-party information received from said cordless handset into voice data; said communicator returns the voice data to said cordless handset; and said voice-data output section reads out the voice data returned from said main phone.
12 . The main phone of the cordless telephone unit as defined in claim 1 , wherein said voice generator converts calling-party information coming from a telephone line into voice data; and said communicator returns the voice data to the cordless handset.
13 . The cordless handset of the cordless telephone unit as defined in claim 2 , wherein said voice-data output section outputs voice data corresponding to the called-party information received from the main phone.
14 . The cordless telephone unit as defined in claim 11 , wherein said voice generator converts calling-party information coming from a telephone line into voice data; said communicator transmits the calling-party information after voice-conversion to said cordless handset; and said voice-data output section reads out the voice data corresponding to the calling-party information received from said main phone.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
