Use of nano-scale deodorants

Abstract

A cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition containing a deodorant agent coated with a protective colloid and having a particle diameter of from about 10 to 500 nm.

1 . The use of nanoscale deodorants with particle diameters of 10 to 500 nm for the production of cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical preparations.  
     
     
         2 . The use claimed in  claim 1 , characterized in that germ inhibitors, enzyme inhibitors, odor absorbers or odor maskers and antiperspirants are used.  
     
     
         3 . The use claimed in claims  1  and/or 2, characterized in that salts of aluminium, zirconium or zinc and complex compounds thereof are used.  
     
     
         4 . The use claimed in at least one of  claims 1  to  3 , characterized in that nanoscale deodorants obtained by 
 (a) dissolving the solid starting materials in a suitable solvent under supercritical or near-critical conditions,  
 (b) expanding the fluid mixture through a nozzle into a vacuum, a gas or a liquid and  
 (c) simultaneously evaporating the solvent  
 are used.  
 
     
     
         5 . The use claimed in at least one of  claims 1  to  4 , characterized in that nanoscale deodorants obtained by converting the liquid starting materials into a fine-droplet emulsion under phase inversion conditions or solubilizing them as a quasi-microemulsion are used.  
     
     
         6 . The use claimed in at least one of  claims 1  to  5 , characterized in that nanoparticles coated with a protective colloid are used.  
     
     
         7 . The use claimed in  claim 6 , characterized in that polyvinyl alcohol or polyethylene glycol is used as the protective colloid.  
     
     
         8 . The use claimed in at least one of  claims 1  to  7 , characterized in that the deodorants are used in quantities of 0.1 to 5% by weight, based on the preparations.  
     
     
         9 . The use claimed in at least one of  claims 1  to  7 , characterized in that the nanoscale deodorants are used for the production of deodorant preparations.
