Abstract

The present application relates to nucleic acids and polypeptides from Cenarchaeum symbiosum . Methods of making the polypeptides and antibodies against the polypeptides are also described.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A method of generating a variant comprising:
 obtaining a nucleic acid comprising a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOS. 1, 2, 5, 9, 13, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33, 37, 41, 45, 57, 59, 61, 63, 65, 67, 71, 75, 79, 3,7, 11, 15, 17, 19,21, 23, 35, 39,43,47,49, 51, 53, 55, 69, 73 and 77, the sequences complementary to the sequences of SEQ ID NOS. 1, 2, 5, 9, 13, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33, 37, 41, 45, 57, 59, 61, 63, 65, 67, 71, 75, 79, 3, 7, 11, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 35, 39, 43, 47, 49, 51, 53, 55, 69, 73 and 77, fragments comprising at least 30 consecutive nucleotides of SEQ ID NOS. 1,2, 5, 9, 13,25,27,29, 31,33,37,41,45, 57, 59,61,63,65,67, 71,75, 79, 3, 7, 11, 15, 17, 19,21,23, 35, 39,43,47, 49, 51, 53, 55, 69, 73 and 77, and fragments comprising at least 30 consecutive nucleotides of the sequences complementary to SEQ ID NOS. 1, 2, 5, 9, 13,25,27, 29, 31, 33, 37, 41, 45, 57, 59, 61, 63, 65, 67, 71,75, 79, 3, 7, 11, 15, 17, 19,21,23, 35, 39,43,47,49, 51, 53, 55,69,73 and 77; and changing one or more nucleotides in said sequence to another nucleotide, deleting one or more nucleotides in said sequence, or adding one or more nucleotides to said sequence.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of testing the enzymatic properties of a translation product of said variant.
