Abstract
The present invention provides a solid golf ball having exceptional rebound characteristics and flight performance, as well as good shot feel. The present invention relates to a solid golf ball comprising at least one layer of a core, and at least one layer of a cover formed on the core, wherein at least one of the layers of the core is formed by vulcanizing and press-molding a rubber composition comprising (a) a base rubber comprising polybutadiene rubber containing a cis-1,4-bond of not less than 80% in microstructure and having a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 1.2 to 2.0, (b) a co-crosslinking agent, and (c) an organic peroxide.

1 . A solid golf ball comprising at least one layer of a core, and at least one layer of a cover formed on the core, wherein at least one of the layers of the core is formed by vulcanizing and press-molding a rubber composition comprising
(a) a base rubber comprising polybutadiene rubber containing a cis-1,4-bond of not less than 80% in microstructure and having a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 1.2 to 2.0, (b) a co-crosslinking agent, and (c) an organic peroxide.
2 . The golf ball according to claim 1 , wherein the polybutadiene rubber containing a cis-1,4-bond of not less than 80% and having a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 1.2 to 2.0 is synthesized by using a catalyst consisted of a composition comprising
(d) a metallocene type complex of a rare-earth metal compound and (e) an ionic compound consisting of a non-coordinating anion and cation and/or aluminoxane.
3 . The golf ball according to claim 1 , wherein the rubber composition for the core comprises 15 to 45 parts by weight of the co-crosslinking agent and 0.2 to 5 parts by weight of the organic peroxide, based on 100 parts by weight of the base rubber.
4 . The golf ball according to claim 1 , wherein the base rubber comprises at least 50% of polybutadiene rubber containing a cis-1,4-bond of not less than 80% and having a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 1.2 to 2.0.
5 . The golf ball according to claim 1 , wherein the rubber composition further comprises 0.05 to 3 parts by weight of an organic sulfide compound, based on 100 parts by weight of the base rubber.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
