Apparatus for automatic application of sunless tanning composition having an attached dressing room

Abstract

An apparatus for applying a sunless tanning composition to a human user including a booth with a sunless tanning composition spraying apparatus and suitable for containing a user, with a dressing room attached to the booth and having an ingress to the booth and an egress. The dressing room may include features such as a heater; a blower that circulates air through the dressing room; an integrally formed seat; and at least one of the set consisting of a towel rack and a clothing hook.

We claim:  
     
         1 . An apparatus for applying a sunless tanning composition to a human user, the apparatus having a booth suitable for containing a user's torso, legs and feet and a coating sprayer above the bottom of the booth containing a sunless tanning composition including a sunless tanning agent for spraying portions of the user's torso, wherein the improvement comprises: 
 a dressing room attached to the booth and having an ingress to the booth and an egress;    wherein the dressing room includes a heater, a blower, and a seat.    
     
     
         2 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , further comprising at least one of the set consisting of a towel rack, a shelf, a clothing hook, and a shoe rack.  
     
     
         3 . An apparatus for applying a sunless tanning composition to a human user, the apparatus having a booth suitable for containing a user and a coating apparatus for spraying a sunless tanning composition onto at least portions of the user, and a foot rinser mounted near the bottom of the booth, wherein the improvement comprises: 
 a dressing room attached to the booth and having an ingress to the booth and an egress.    
     
     
         4 . The apparatus of  claim 3 , wherein the dressing room further comprises a heater.  
     
     
         5 . The apparatus of  claim 3 , wherein the dressing room further comprises a blower operable to circulate air through the dressing room.  
     
     
         6 . The apparatus of  claim 5 , wherein the dressing room further comprises a heater.  
     
     
         7 . The apparatus of  claim 3 , wherein the dressing room further comprises an integrally formed seat.  
     
     
         8 . The apparatus of  claim 3 , wherein the dressing room further comprises at least one of the set consisting of a towel rack, a shelf, a clothing hook, and a shoe rack.  
     
     
         9 . An apparatus for applying a sunless tanning composition to a human, comprising: 
 a) a booth suitable for containing a user;    b) a coating sprayer mounted within the booth and containing a sunless tanning composition including a sunless tanning agent for spraying at least portions of the user; and    c) a dressing room attached to the booth and having an ingress to the booth.    
     
     
         10 . An apparatus for applying a sunless tanning composition to a human user comprising: 
 a) a booth suitable for containing at least a user's torso, legs and feet;    b) a foot rinser mounted within the booth near the bottom of the booth;    c) a coating sprayer mounted within the booth above the bottom of the booth containing a sunless tanning composition including a sunless tanning agent for spraying portions of the user's torso and legs and operable while the foot rinser is in use; and    d) a dressing room attached to the booth and having an ingress to the booth and an egress.    
     
     
         11 . The apparatus of  claim 10 , wherein the dressing room further comprises a heater.  
     
     
         12 . The apparatus of  claim 10 , wherein the dressing room further comprises a blower operable to circulate air through the dressing room.  
     
     
         13 . An apparatus for applying a sunless tanning composition to a human body comprising: 
 a) a booth with a location for a human body within the booth;    b) a first arm moveably mounted within the booth;    c) three or more active spray nozzles on the arm with none of the active spray nozzles oriented to spray in a direction substantially toward any other active spray nozzle;    d) a sunless tanning composition within the three or more active spray nozzles; and    e) a dressing room attached to the booth, wherein the dressing room allows a user to move in privacy from the dressing room to the booth.    
     
     
         14 . The apparatus of  claim 13 , wherein the dressing room further comprises a heater.  
     
     
         15 . The apparatus of  claim 13 , wherein the dressing room further comprises a blower that circulates air through the dressing room.  
     
     
         16 . In combination: 
 a booth for enclosing a human user, the booth containing an apparatus for spray applying a cosmetic composition to the user; and,    a privacy enclosure attached to the booth and providing access from the privacy enclosure to the booth.    
     
     
         17 . The combination of  claim 16  wherein the dressing room includes at least three non-transparent walls.  
     
     
         18 . The combination of  claim 16  wherein the privacy enclosure includes a ceiling.  
     
     
         19 . The combination of  claim 16  wherein the privacy enclosure includes a floor.  
     
     
         20 . The combination of  claim 19  wherein the floor includes a non-slip surface.  
     
     
         21 . The combination of  claim 16  wherein the dressing room includes an audio system.  
     
     
         22 . The combination of  claim 16  wherein the booth prevents outside viewing of the user within the booth during the period the sunless tanning period is spray applied to the user.  
     
     
         23 . An apparatus for differentially applying a composition to a human body comprising: 
 a tanning booth having an applicator for spray applying a first liquid containing a certain non-zero concentration of an active agent to one part of a human body and for spray applying a second liquid having a different concentration of the active agent to a different part of the body; and,    a dressing room attached to the tanning booth and having an ingress to the booth.    
     
     
         24 . An apparatus for applying a composition to a human body, comprising: 
 a substantially enclosed volume large enough to encompass a human body and having a proximal and a distal side;    an applicator substantially on the proximal side of the apparatus for spray applying the composition;    a fan positioned to cause air to pass through the substantially enclosed volume; and,    a privacy enclosure attached to the booth and having an ingress to the booth.    
     
     
         25 . A dressing room attachable to a booth for spray applying a sunless tanning composition to a human user, comprising: 
 a privacy enclosure;    means for allowing a user to transfer from the privacy enclosure to a booth in privacy; and,    means for allowing a user to exit from the privacy enclosure into the surrounding environment.    
     
     
         26 . A dressing room attachable to a spray applying tanning booth, comprising: 
 a privacy enclosure preventing outside viewing of a user within the enclosure;    a first exit from the privacy enclosure allowing a user to transfer from the privacy enclosure to a booth in privacy; and,    a second exit from the privacy enclosure allowing a user to exit from the privacy enclosure into the surrounding environment.    
     
     
         27 . The dressing room of  claim 26  wherein the privacy enclosure has a substantially rectangular cross-section.  
     
     
         28 . The dressing room of  claim 26  wherein the privacy enclosure has at least three walls.  
     
     
         29 . The dressing room of  claim 26  wherein the privacy enclosure has a ceiling.  
     
     
         30 . The dressing room of  claim 29  wherein the privacy enclosure has an integrated floor.
