Extruded section with a cover rail

Abstract

An extruded section which preferably serves the production of a frame or of an edge for parts of furniture such as doors or drawers is provided with at least two webs which bound the side flanks of a groove. To give the extruded section an appealing and aesthetic appearance and to protect it against contamination, the webs are provided with supports or holding devices for a cover rail covering the groove.

1 . An extruded section ( 1 ) having at least two webs ( 7 ,  8 ) which bound the side flanks of a groove, preferably for the production of a frame or of an edge for parts of furniture such as doors or drawers, 
 characterised in that the webs ( 7 ,  8 ,  10 ) are provided with supports or holding devices for a cover rail ( 13  to  16 ) covering the groove.    
     
     
         2 . An extruded section in accordance with  claim 1 , wherein this consists of metal, e.g. of aluminium or of an aluminium alloy.  
     
     
         3 . An extruded section in accordance with either of claims  1  or  2 , wherein the webs ( 7 ,  8 ) extend parallel to one another.  
     
     
         4 . An extruded section in accordance with any of  claims 1  to  3 , wherein the cover rail ( 13  to  16 ) consists of plastic or metal, e.g. of aluminium or of an aluminium alloy.  
     
     
         5 . An extruded section in accordance with any of  claims 1  to  4 , wherein the cover rail has a rectangular, angled or round profile.  
     
     
         6 . An extruded section in accordance with any of  claims 1  to  5 , wherein the webs ( 7 ,  8 ,  10 ) are provided with grooves or receiving grooves ( 8 ,  11 ,  12 ,  18 ) for spring-like latch or plug-in rails ( 17 ) of the cover rails ( 13  to  16 ).  
     
     
         7 . An extruded section in accordance with any of  claims 1  to  3 , wherein the cover rails ( 13  to  16 ) are displaceably held in the receiving grooves ( 9 ,  11 ,  12 ,  18 ).  
     
     
         8 . An extruded section in accordance with  claim 6  or  7 , wherein the central planes of the receiving grooves and spring-like latch or plug-in rails extend at an angle, e.g. at a right angle, to one another.
