Abstract

An angle adjusting mechanism for hanging parasols includes a hollow housing member and an anchor means located in the housing member. An adjusting element with a turning member located at a lower end thereof is housed in the housing member for fastening a supporting bracket. The turning member may be turned for a selected displacement in the housing member to change the angle of a hanging parasol relative to the supporting bracket to block sunshine, and a displacement element of the anchor means may be moved to constrict the adjusting element at a selected position to keep the hanging parasol stationary at the selected angle.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An angle adjusting mechanism for hanging parasols being located between a supporting bracket of a hanging parasol and a central shaft of the parasol for adjusting the angle of the parasol to block sunshine, comprising:
a hollow housing member having one end opening engaged with an adjusting element which has an anchor strut fastened to the supporting bracket and a turning member located at a lower end thereof capable of turning a selected displacement in the housing member; and an anchor means located in the housing member including a displacement element fastening to the central shaft of the parasol, an anchor element fixedly mounted to the housing member for controlling the displacement of the displacement element, and a harness element located between the anchor element and the turning member and being actuated by the displacement element to harness the adjusting element; wherein the turning member is turnable for the selected displacement in the housing member to change the angle of the parasol relative the supporting bracket to block sunshine, and the displacement element being turnable for moving upwards to push the harness element bucking against the adjusting element to keep the hanging parasol stationary at the selected angle.

2 . The angle adjusting mechanism for hanging parasols of claim 1 , wherein displacement element and the anchor element are engageable through matching screw thread sections and formed respectively therein.

3 . The angle adjusting mechanism for hanging parasols of claim 1 , wherein displacement element and the harness element have respectively a braking strut and a bucking end mating with each other and are interposed therebetween by a washer of a low friction coefficient.

4 . The angle adjusting mechanism for hanging parasols of claim 1 , wherein the turning member of the adjusting element is substantially spherical, the harness element having a bowl shaped section facing and contact the turning member to facilitate turning of the turning member.

5 . The angle adjusting mechanism for hanging parasols of claim 1 , wherein the anchor element includes two half bushing members each having a coupling stub and a coupling cavity for coupling the two half bushing members.

6 . The angle adjusting mechanism for hanging parasols of claim 5 , wherein the two half bushing members have respectively a fastening section to engage with a fastener for fastening the anchor element to the housing member.

7 . The angle adjusting mechanism for hanging parasols of claim 1 , wherein the housing member has a notch formed on the opening end where the adjusting element is located to match the anchor strut.
