Fall-away brassiere

Abstract

A full-support brassiere that can be removed without the need to first remove outer garments such as a blouse. The Fall-Away Brassiere is designed with shoulder straps for support and comfort. The release of a single fastener, releases both the back band and the shoulder straps, allowing the brassiere to fall-away from the wearer's body. The wearer can then slip the brassiere out from under her blouse.

What is claimed is:  
     
         1 . a fall-away brassiere, comprising: 
 (a) a pair of breast receptor cups;    (b) a back band attached to each of the breast receptor cups;    (c) a pair of shoulder straps each shoulder strap having a first end and a second end wherein both first ends are attached to the back band and both second ends are attached to one of the pair of breast receptor cups; and    (d) means wherein the back band or pair of breast receptor cups and at least one end of each of the shoulder straps can be simultaneously released.    
     
     
         2 . A brassiere according to  claim 1  which further comprises a releasable clasp connecting at least one end of each of the shoulder straps to the back band or the pair of breast receptor cups so that when the releasable clasp is released, the back band or pair of breast receptor cups, and the at least one end of each of the shoulder straps are simultaneously released.  
     
     
         3 . A brassiere according to  claim 2  wherein the back band is releaseable.  
     
     
         4 . A fall-away brassiere according to  claim 3 , comprising: 
 (a) a first breast receptor cup;    (b) a first back band portion connected to an outer edge of the first breast receptor cup;    (c) a second breast receptor cup connected at an inner edge thereof to an inner edge of the first breast receptor cup;    (d) a second back band portion connected to an outer edge of the second breast receptor cup;    (e) a first strap connected at the second end thereof to an upper edge of the first breast receptor cup;    (f) a second strap connected at the second end thereof to an upper edge of the second breast receptor cup;    (g) a first loop connected to the first back band portion and being configured to receive the first strap therethrough;    (h) a second loop connected to the second back band portion and being configured to receive the second strap therethrough;    (i) a first releasable clasp portion connected to the first end of the first strap; and    (j) a second releasable clasp connected to the first end of the second strap and being configured to releasably engage the first releasable clasp.    
     
     
         5 . The fall-away brassiere according to  claim 4 , wherein the first releasable clasp portion is a hook and the second releasable clasp is an eye.  
     
     
         6 . The fall-away brassiere according to  claim 4 , wherein the first strap is passed through the first loop and the second strap is passed through the second loop when the brassiere is worn.  
     
     
         7 . The fall-away according to  claim 4 , wherein the first strap is passed through the second loop and the second strap is passed through the first loop when the brassiere is worn.  
     
     
         8 . The fall-away brassiere as described in  claim 4 , wherein the first and second loops are connected to the first and second back portions at positions distal from a juncture between the first and second back portions and further comprising a third loop positioned on the first back portion adjacent the juncture and a fourth loop positioned on the second back portion adjacent the juncture.  
     
     
         9 . The fall-away brassiere as described in  claim 8 , wherein the hook and the eye are each connected to a respective strap and a narrow end and the first and second loops are sized to allow the hook and the eye to pass completely therethrough and the third and fourth loops are sized to allow a narrow end to pass and to prevent a wide end of the hook and eye from passing therethrough.  
     
     
         10 . The fall-away brassiere as described in  claim 5 , further comprising a rigid member assembled to each back band adjacent each of the first, second, third, and fourth loops.  
     
     
         11 . A fall-away brassiere according to  claim 3 , comprising: 
 (a) a first breast receptor cup;    (b) a first back band portion connected to an outer edge of the first breast receptor cup;    (c) a second breast receptor cup connected at an inner edge thereof to an inner edge of the first breast receptor cup;    (d) a second back band portion connected to an outer edge of the second breast receptor cup;    (e) a first strap connected at the second end thereof to an upper edge of the first breast receptor cup;    (f) a second strap connected at the second end thereof to an upper edge of the second breast receptor cup;    (g) a first connector ring connected to the first end of the first strap;    (h) a second connector ring connected to the first end of the second strap;    (i) a releasable clasp comprising a hook attached to the first back portion;    (j) a loop attached to the second; and    (k) wherein the first and second connector rings are configured to be entrained on the hook and eye when engaged.    
     
     
         12 . A brassiere according to  claim 2  wherein a pair of breast receptor cups are releasable.  
     
     
         13 . A fall-away brassiere according to  claim 12 , comprising: 
 (a) a first breast receptor cup;    (b) a back band portion connected at a first end thereof to an outer edge of the first breast receptor cup;    (c) a second breast receptor cup connected at an outer end thereof to a second end of the back band portion;    (d) a first strap connected at the first end thereof to an upper edge of the back band portion;    (e) a second strap connected at the first end thereof to an upper edge of the back band portion;    (f) a first connector ring connected to the second end of the first strap;    (g) a second connector ring connected to the second end of the second strap;    (h) a releasable clasp comprising a hook attached to the first breast receptor cup;    (i) a loop attached to the second breast receptor cup and adapted to be engaged by the hook; and    (j) wherein the first and second connector rings are configured to be entrained on the hook and eye when engaged.    
     
     
         14 . A brassiere according to  claim 1  comprising: 
 (a) a first releasable clasp connecting either the pair of breast receptor cups or a divided back band and;  
 (b) a pair of releasable clasps connecting the pair of shoulder straps to the back band or to the pair of breast receptor cups so that when the tension is released in the back band, the back band or pair of breast receptor cups, and at least one end of each of the shoulder straps are simultaneously released.  
 
     
     
         15 . A brassiere according to  claim 14  wherein the back band is releasable.  
     
     
         16 . A fall-away brassiere according to  claim 15  and, comprising: 
 (a) a first breast receptor cup;  
 (b) a back band portion connected at a first end thereof to an outer edge of the first breast receptor cup;  
 (c) a second breast receptor cup connected at an outer edge thereof to a second end of the back band portion;  
 (d) a first strap connected at the second end thereof to an upper edge of the first breast receptor cup;  
 (e) a second strap connected at the second end thereof to an upper edge of the second breast receptor cup;  
 (f) a first releasable clasp portion connected to the first end of the first strap;  
 (g) a second releasable clasp portion connected to the first end of the second strap;  
 (h) a third releasable clasp portion member attached to the back band first end portion;  
 (i) a fourth releasable clasp portion attached to the back band portion second end; and  
 (j) wherein the first and second releasable clasp portion are configured to being releasably connected to said third and fourth releasable clasp portion.  
 
     
     
         17 . A fall-away brassiere as described in  claim 16 , wherein the first breast receptor cup and the second breast receptor cup are connected at an inner edge of each and the back band portion comprises a first half back band portion and a second half back band portion that each have interengageable closure means for releasably connecting to each other.  
     
     
         18 . A fall-away brassiere according to  claim 15 , comprising: 
 (a) a first breast receptor cup;    (b) a back band portion connected at a first end thereof to an outer edge of the first breast receptor cup;    (c) a second breast receptor cup connected at an outer edge thereof to a second end of the back band portion;    (d) a first strap connected at the first end thereof to an upper edge of the back band portion;    (e) a second strap connected at the first end thereof to an upper edge of the back band portion;    (f) a first connector member connected to the second end of the first strap;    (g) a second connector member connected to the second end of the second strap;    (h) a third connector member attached to the first breast receptor cup;    (i) a fourth connector member attached to the second breast receptor cup; and    (j) wherein the first and second connector members are configured to being releasably connected to said third and fourth connector members.    
     
     
         19 . A fall-away brassiere as described in  claim 18 , wherein the first breast receptor cup and the second breast receptor cup are connected to an inner edge of each and the back band portion comprises a first half back band portion and a second half back band portion that each have interengageable closure means for releasably connecting to each other.  
     
     
         20 . A brassiere according to  claim 14  wherein the pair of breast receptor cups are releasable.  
     
     
         21 . A fall-away brassiere according to  claim 20 , comprising: 
 (a) a first breast receptor cup;    (b) a back band portion connected at a first end thereof to an outer edge of the first breast receptor cup;    (c) a second breast receptor cup connected at an outer edge thereof to a second end of the back band portion;    (d) a first strap connected at the second end thereof to an upper edge of the first breast receptor cup;    (e) a second strap connected at the second end thereof to an upper edge of the second breast receptor cup;    (f) a first releasable clasp portion connected to the first end of the first strap;    (g) a second releasable clasp portion connected to the first end of the second strap;    (h) a third releasable clasp portion member attached to the back band portion;    (i) a fourth releasable clasp portion attached to the back band portion; and    (j) wherein the first and second releasable clasp portion are configured to be releasably connected to said third and fourth releasable clasp portion.    
     
     
         22 . A fall-away brassiere as described in  claim 21 , wherein the first breast receptor cup and the second breast receptor cup each have interengageable closure means at an inner edge thereof for being releasably connected to each other.  
     
     
         23 . A fall-away brassiere according to  claim 20 , comprising: 
 (a) a first breast receptor cup;    (b) a back band portion connected at a first end thereof to an outer edge of the first breast receptor cup;    (c) a second breast receptor cup connected at an outer edge thereof to a second end of the back band portion;    (d) a first strap connected at the first end thereof to an upper edge of the back band portion;    (e) a second strap connected at the first end thereof to an upper edge of the back band portion;    (f) a first connector member connected to the second end of the first strap;    (g) a second connector member connected to the second end of the second strap;    (h) a third connector member attached to the first breast receptor cup;    (i) a fourth connector member attached to the second breast receptor cup; and    (j) wherein the first and second connector members are configured to being releasably connected to said third and fourth connector members.    
     
     
         24 . A fall-away brassiere as described in  claim 23 , wherein the first breast receptor cup and the second breast receptor cup each have interengageable closure means at an inner edge thereof for being releasably connected to each other.  
     
     
         25 . A brassiere according to  claim 1  comprising: 
 (a) first releasable clasp connecting either the pair of breast receptor cups or a divided back band;  
 (b) a second and third releasable clasp connecting the pair of shoulder straps to the back band or to the pair of breast receptor cups; and  
 (c) wherein the second and third releasable clasps are connected to the first releasable clasp, so that when any one of the releasable clasps is released, the back band or pair of breast receptor cups, and at least one end of each of the shoulder straps are simultaneously released.  
 
     
     
         26 . A brassiere according to  claim 25 , wherein first, second and third releasable clasp are physically interconnected by a cable, wire, string or other suitable means.  
     
     
         27 . A brassiere according to  claim 25 , wherein first, second and third releasable clasp are remotely interconnected by radio control, fiber optic, electrical signal, or other remote means.  
     
     
         28 . A brassiere according to  claim 25  comprising: 
 (a) a divided back band attached to each of the breast receptor cups;  
 (b) a first releasable clasp connecting the divided back band;  
 (c) wherein the first end is attached to the breast receptor cup; and the second end is connect by a releasable clasp to the back band;  
 (d) wherein the second and third releasable clasps are connected to the first releasable clasp, so that when any one of the releasable clasps is released, the back band, and one end of each of the shoulder straps are simultaneously released.  
 
     
     
         29 . A brassiere according to  claim 25 , comprising: 
 (a) a back band attached to each of the breast receptor cups;    (b) a first releasable clasp connecting the breast receptor cups;    (c) wherein the first end is attached to the back band; and the second end is connect by a releasable clasp to the breast receptor cup; and    (d) wherein the second and third releasable clasps are connected to the first releasable clasp, so that when any one of the releasable clasps is released, the breast receptor cups, and one end of each of the shoulder straps are simultaneously released.    
     
     
         30 . A brassiere according to  claim 25  wherein the first releasable clasp is connected to the second and third releasable clasp by remote means.  
     
     
         31 . A brassiere according to  claim 30  wherein the remote means is a transmitter which sends a signal to the releasable clasps to release and said releasable clasps are remote control operated solenoids.  
     
     
         32 . A fall-away brassiere, comprising: 
 (a) a first breast receptor cup;    (b) a back band portion connected at a first end thereof to an outer edge of the first breast receptor cup;    (c) a second breast receptor cup connected at an outer edge thereof to a second end of the back band portion;    (d) a shoulder strap having a first end and a second end;    (e) a releasable clasp connecting the pair of breast receptor cups and at least one end of the shoulder strap to the pair of breast receptor cups    (e) wherein the pair of breast receptor cups and at least one end of the shoulder strap can be simultaneously released.    
     
     
         33 . A brassiere according to  claim 32  comprising: 
 (a) the first end releasable connected to the releasable clasp;  
 (b) the second end releasable connected to the releasable clasp;  
 (c) wherein the pair of breast receptor cups and the first and second end of the shoulder strap can be simultaneously released.  
 
     
     
         34 . A brassiere according to  claim 32  comprising: 
 (a) the first end fixedly attached to the inner edge of the first breast receptor cup;  
 (b) the second end releasable connected to the releasable clasp;  
 (c) wherein the pair of breast receptor cups and the second end of the shoulder strap can be simultaneously released.  
 
     
     
         35 . A fall-away brassiere as described in  claim 32 , wherein the brassiere is incorporated into lingerie.
