Child protector device for child car seat, bed or the like

Abstract

A protector device for a child-care instrument such as a child safety car seat or a child bed provides cushioning and protection around the child while allowing the support space for receiving the child to be adapted to different stages of the growth of the child. The protector device includes a head protector surrounding the child's head, an upper protector surrounding the child's upper body, and a lower protector surrounding the child's lower body. Protector elements may also support the child's head and body from below. The adaptable protector device makes the child-care instrument safer and more comfortable for the child in various stages of growth.

What is claimed is:  
     
         1 . A protector employed for a child-care instrument having a support space for receiving a child whose body is in the process of growth, wherein 
 said protector forms a receiving space by filling up a clearance defined between said support space and said child while rendering the capacity of said receiving space variable in response to growth of said child,    said protector further includes: 
 an upper protector protecting the head region and the shoulder region of said child, particularly a neonate or an infant, and a lower protector protecting the abdominal region and the leg region, and  
 at least either said upper protector or said lower protector includes length control means for controlling the length along the height direction in response to physical growth of said child.  
   
     
     
         2 . A protector for a child-care instrument, consisting of a flexible material, arranged in a child receiving space of said child-care instrument, comprising: 
 an upper protector enclosing the upper half of the body of a child;    a lower protector enclosing the lower half of the body of said child; and    a head protector arranged inside said upper protector for enclosing the head of said child.    
     
     
         3 . The protector for a child-care instrument according to  claim 2 , further comprising coupling means for detachably coupling said upper protector and said lower protector with each other.  
     
     
         4 . The protector for a child-care instrument according to  claim 2 , further comprising coupling means for detachably coupling said head protector to said upper protector.  
     
     
         5 . A child-care instrument having a space supporting a baby, wherein 
 said space is provided to be capable of selecting: 
 a neonate bed mode suitable to the habitus of a baby in a neonatal period;  
 an infantile bed mode suitable to the habitus of a baby in infancy, and  
 a child bed mode or a child seat mode suitable to the habitus of a baby in childhood,  
   having a protector for properly filling up a clearance defined between said space and said baby by changing said mode in response to growth of said baby in a neonatal period, infancy or childhood,    in a state used in said neonatal bed mode, said infantile bed mode or said child bed mode,    said protector is integrally provided with: 
 a first head protector protecting the head of said baby from below,  
 a second head protector protecting the head of said baby from the parietal side and the lateral surface sides,  
 a first body protector supporting the body of said baby from below, and  
 second body protectors, supporting the body of said baby from the lateral surface sides, provided in a pair on both sides of said first body protector.  
   
     
     
         6 . The child-care instrument according to  claim 5 , provided to be capable of coupling lower end portions of said second body protectors located on both sides and a lower end portion of said first body protector by bending said lower end portion of said first body protector upward.  
     
     
         7 . The child-care instrument according to  claim 5 , further having a head pad placed on said first head protector for filling up a clearance between said first head protector and the head of said baby in order to protect the head of said baby.  
     
     
         8 . The child-care instrument according to  claim 7 , wherein said head pad has a sunshade for shielding said baby against exposure to light.  
     
     
         9 . The child-care instrument according to  claim 5 , further comprising a lumbar pad detachably provided inside said second body protectors for covering the lumbar region of said baby.  
     
     
         10 . The child-care instrument according to  claim 5 , further comprising a leg cover detachably provided on said protector for covering a portion close to the legs of said baby from above.  
     
     
         11 . The child-care instrument according to  claim 5 , further comprising a pair of body covers provided on both sides of the body of said baby for covering the body of said baby from above.  
     
     
         12 . The child-care instrument according to  claim 11 , further having fixing means for opening said pair of body covers outward and temporarily fixing said pair of body covers in the open states.  
     
     
         13 . The child-care instrument according to  claim 5 , wherein 
 said protector includes a head protector protecting the head region of said baby, particularly a neonate or an infant, and    said head protector includes a pair of head side wall portions protecting the temporal regions of said baby and head side wall space control means for controlling the space between said pair of head side wall portions.    
     
     
         14 . The child-care instrument according to  claim 13 , wherein said head protector includes an inner head protector and an outer head protector arranged to doubly enclose the temporal regions and the parietal region of said baby.  
     
     
         15 . The child-care instrument according to  claim 14 , wherein said inner head protector is so provided that the position of said inner head protector is vertically controllable with respect to said outer head protector.  
     
     
         16 . The child-care instrument according to  claim 5 , wherein said protector includes a shoulder protector protecting the head region of said baby, particularly a neonate or an infant.
