Abstract

A metal casting molded body comprising at least one effective surface for machining or processing a material and formed from a compound material, wherein said compound material comprises at least one porous hard material body in a casting matrix made of a metallic casting material, said casting material being seeped into said hard material body.

What is claimed is:  
     
         1 . A metal casting molded body comprising at least one effective surface for machining or processing a material and formed from a compound material, wherein said compound material comprises at least one porous hard material body in a casting matrix made of a metallic casting material, said casting material being seeped into said hard material body.  
     
     
         2 . The metal casting molded body as set forth in  claim 1 , characterized in that a wear-resistant iron base alloy, preferably a wear-resistant casting iron, forms said matrix.  
     
     
         3 . The metal casting molded body as set forth in  claim 1 , characterized in that said hard material body is a ceramic body comprising a ceramic material from the group of carbides, oxides and nitrides or a combination of a number of these materials.  
     
     
         4 . The metal casting molded body as set forth in  claim 1 , characterized in that said hard material body is a ceramic body and contains a carbide of a carbide producer from the group consisting of silicon, chromium, tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, niobium, titanium, zirconium, tantalum and hafnium, and in that the carbide content is at least 20% by weight and at most 70% by weight.  
     
     
         5 . The metal casting molded body as set forth in  claim 1 , characterized in that said at least one hard material body is open-pored and exhibits a pore density of at least 5 ppi (pores per square inch) and at most 100 ppi.  
     
     
         6 . The metal casting molded body as set forth in  claim 1 , characterized in that said at least one hard material body is a ceramic body having a foam structure.  
     
     
         7 . The metal casting molded body as set forth in  claim 1 , characterized in that a plurality of hard material bodies are arranged side-by-side in said casting matrix, to form said effective surface.  
     
     
         8 . The metal casting molded body as set forth in  claim 1 , characterized in that said casting matrix is formed by a chromium-alloyed and/or molybdenum-alloyed casting iron.  
     
     
         9 . The metal casting molded body as set forth in  claim 1 , characterized in that said casting matrix exhibits a bainite and/or martensite structure.  
     
     
         10 . The metal casting molded body as set forth in  claim 1 , characterized in that said metal casting molded body is a machining body for milling material, preferably a grinding body.  
     
     
         11 . A metal casting molded body comprising at least one hard material body on a surface of said molded body, imbedded in a casting matrix made of an iron base alloy, preferably a casting iron material, said casting material being seeped into said hard material body.  
     
     
         12 . The metal casting molded body as set forth in  claim 11 , characterized in that said hard material body is a ceramic body comprising a ceramic material from the group of carbides, oxides and nitrides or a combination of a number of these materials.  
     
     
         13 . The metal casting molded body as set forth in  claim 11 , characterized in that said hard material body is a ceramic body and contains a carbide of a carbide producer from the group consisting of silicon, chromium, tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, niobium, titanium, zirconium, tantalum and hafnium, and in that the carbide content is at least 20% by weight and at most 70% by weight.

         17 . The metal casting molded body as set forth in  claim 11 , characterized in that said casting matrix is formed by a chromium-alloyed and/or molybdenum-alloyed casting iron.  
     
     
         18 . The metal casting molded body as set forth in  claim 11 , characterized in that said casting matrix exhibits a bainite and/or martensite structure.  
     
     
         19 . The metal casting molded body as set forth in  claim 11 , characterized in that said metal casting molded body is a machining body for milling material, preferably a grinding body.  
     
     
         20 . A method for producing a metal casting molded body comprising at least one wear-resistant surface, wherein: 
 a) at least one porous hard material body is attached to a casting mould surface in a casting mould;    b) and said casting mould is effused with a wear-resistant iron base material, such that said iron base material seeps into said at least one hard material body;    c) wherein said at least one hard material body is a ceramic body made of a material known from casting filters for casting iron material and has a structure known from such casting filters.    
     
     
         21 . The method as set forth in  claim 20 , characterized in that a ceramic body having a foam structure is used.  
     
     
         22 . The method as set forth in  claim 20 , characterized in that a ceramic casting filter is used for said at least one hard material body.  
     
     
         23 . The method as set forth in  claim 20 , characterized in that a plurality of hard material bodies are arranged on and attached to said casting mould surface, side-by-side, to form said at least one wear-resistant surface.
