Abstract

The present invention is drawn to media disc packaging systems, which can utilize a jewel case as part of the packaging system. The system can comprise a container including, a media disc securing surface configured for receiving a media disc, and a plurality of walls defining a chamber, wherein at least one of the walls is transparent, and wherein the chamber is discrete from said securing surface; and a three-dimensional novelty object within the chamber, wherein the container is configured so that a media disc present on the securing surface and the three-dimensional novelty object are both unobstructedly viewable along an axis perpendicular to a face of the media disc.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A jewel case, comprising:
a base; a liner carried by the base, wherein said liner and said base define an enclosed chamber, and wherein said enclosed chamber is viewable through one surface of one of the base and the liner; and a three-dimensional novelty object contained within the enclosed chamber.

2 . A jewel case as in claim 1 wherein said one surface is transparent.

3 . A jewel case as in claim 1 wherein the transparent surface is color modified.

4 . A jewel case as in claim 1 wherein said one surface is translucent.

5 . A jewel case as in claim 1 comprising a plurality of three-dimensional novelty objects.

6 . A jewel case as in claim 1 wherein the three-dimensional novelty object is configured to turn about in the enclosed chamber.

7 . A jewel case as in claim 1 wherein the three-dimensional novelty object is at least 1 mm in thickness.

8 . A jewel case as in claim 1 further comprising a printed sheet along a surface of the base such that the viewable surface is provided by the liner.

9 . A jewel case as in claim 1 wherein the enclosed chamber is substantially along a spine area.

10 . A jewel case as in claim 1 wherein the enclosed chamber is adjacent to a corner of the liner.

11 . A jewel case as in claim 1 wherein the enclosed chamber comprises a spine area and an area adjacent to a corner of the liner.

12 . A jewel case as in claim 1 further comprising printed media for inclusion in a jewel case wherein the three-dimensional novelty object is thematically related to a theme set forth in the printed media.

13 . A jewel case as in claim 1 further comprising a media disc wherein the three-dimensional novelty object is thematically related to a theme set forth from the media disc.

14 . A media disc packaging system, comprising:
a container including, a media disc securing surface configured for receiving a media disc, and a plurality of walls defining a chamber, wherein at least one of said walls is see-through, and wherein said chamber is discrete from said securing surface; and a three-dimensional novelty object within the chamber, wherein the container is configured so that a media disc present on the securing surface and the three-dimensional novelty object are both unobstructedly viewable along an axis perpendicular to a face of the media disc.

15 . A media disc packaging system as in claim 14 wherein the three-dimensional novelty object is a plurality of three-dimensional novelty objects.

16 . A media disc packaging system as in claim 14 wherein the three dimensional novelty object is configured to turn about in the enclosed chamber.

17 . A media disc packaging system as in claim 14 wherein the three-dimensional novelty object is at least 1 mm in thickness.

18 . A media disc packaging system as in claim 14 further comprising printed media for inclusion in the jewel case wherein the three-dimensional novelty object is thematically related to a theme set forth in the printed media.

19 . A media disc packaging system as in claim 14 further comprising a media disc wherein the three-dimensional novelty object is thematically related to a theme set forth from the media disc.

20 . A media disc packaging system, comprising:
a jewel case including, a substrate configured for holding a media disc, said media disc being releasably connected to the substrate, and a cover configured for exposing the media disc when the cover is in an open position, and configured for protecting the media disc when the cover is in a closed position, wherein the cover in the closed position provides an enclosed chamber; and a three-dimensional novelty object within the enclosed chamber.
