Abstract
Nuclear matrix proteins (NMP) which are characterized by a defined expression in tissue are provided. These NMPs are useful markers in diagnosing and monitoring the stage of malignancy of a cell and treating cell proliferative disorders associated with the NMP. Also provided are substantially purified polypeptides and nucleotide sequences encoding the NMPs of the invention.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for detecting a cell proliferative disorder in a subject comprising contacting a cellular component with a reagent which binds to PC-1 (prostate cancer-1) protein.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the cell proliferative disorder is in urogenital tissue.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the urogenital tissue is the prostate.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the cellular component is the nucleic acid.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the nucleic acid is DNA.
6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the nucleic acid is RNA.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the reagent is a probe.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the reagent is nucleic acid.
9 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the probe is detectably labeled.
