Abstract

A method for mounting a frameless wall decor article to a generally vertical support surface, frameless wall decor article including a mounting member attached thereto, the mounting member having a vertical engaging surface and a downward support surface perpendicular to a vertical centerline of the frameless wall decor article, includes aligning a receiving member with the generally vertical support surface by leveling an upward support surface of the receiving member with the generally vertical support surface, attaching the receiving member to the generally vertical support surface with the upward support surface in a level position, and engaging the mounting member with the receiving member so that the vertical engaging surface of the mounting member is in abutting relationship with a vertical engaging surface of the receiving member, the downward and upward support surfaces are parallel to each other, and the horizontal position of the mounting member and frameless article are horizontally adjustable relative to the receiving member. A frameless wall decor article mounting system includes the generally planar frameless wall decor article, the mounting member attached to the frameless wall decor article, and the receiving member, whereupon engagement of the mounting member with the receiving member the vertical engaging surface of the mounting member is in abutting relationship with the vertical engaging surface of the receiving member and the downward support surface of the mounting member is parallel to the upward support surface of the receiving member.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A method of mounting a frameless wall decor article to a generally vertical support surface, the frameless wall decor article having a mounting member attached thereto, the mounting member including a vertical engaging surface and a downward support surface perpendicular to a vertical centerline of the frameless wall decor article, the method comprising:
aligning a receiving member with the generally vertical support surface by leveling an upward support surface of the receiving member with the generally vertical support surface; attaching the receiving member to the generally vertical support surface with the upward support surface in a level position; and engaging the mounting member with the receiving member so that the vertical engaging surface of the mounting member is in abutting relationship with a vertical engaging surface of the receiving member and the downward support surface of the mounting member is parallel to the horizontal engaging surface of the receiving member and the frameless wall decor article and mounting member are horizontally adjustable with respect to the receiving member.

2 . A frameless wall decor article mounting method according to claim 1 , further comprising:
attaching a spacer to the frameless wall decor article, the spacer contacting the generally vertical support surface and uniformly spacing the frameless wall decor article from the generally vertical support surface.

3 . A frameless wall decor article mounting method according to claim 2 , wherein the spacer includes back to back tape squares and a release tape of the tape square that contacts generally vertical support surface.

4 . A frameless wall decor article mounting method according to claim 1 , wherein the frameless wall decor article is a mirror.

5 . A frameless wall decor article mounting method according to claim 1 , wherein the mounting member is attached to the frameless wall decor article by adhesive.

6 . A frameless wall decor article mounting system, comprising:
a frameless wall decor article configured to be mounted to a generally vertical support surface; a mounting member attached to the frameless wall decor article, the mounting member including a vertical engaging surface and a downward support surface perpendicular to a vertical centerline of the frameless wall decor article; and a receiving member including a vertical engaging surface and an upward support surface, the receiving member being attachable to the support surface with the upward support surface in a level position, whereupon engagement of the mounting member with the receiving member the vertical engaging surface of the mounting member is in abutting relationship with the vertical engaging surface of the receiving member and the downward support surface of the mounting member is parallel to the upward support surface of the receiving member and the frameless wall decor article and mounting member are horizontally adjustable with respect to the receiving member.

7 . A frameless wall decor article mounting system according to claim 6 , further comprising:
a spacer attached to the frameless wall decor article that contacts the generally vertical support surface and uniformly spaces the frameless wall decor article from the support surface.

8 . A frameless wall decor article mounting system according to claim 6 , wherein the frameless wall decor article is a mirror.

9 . A frameless wall decor article mounting system according to claim 6 , wherein the mounting member includes a grooved mounting member attachment surface.

10 . A frameless wall decor article mounting system according to claim 6 , wherein the downward and upward support surfaces are rounded.

11 . A frameless wall decor article mounting system according to claim 6 , wherein the mounting member and the receiving member have identical cross sections.

12 . A frameless wall decor article mounting system according to claim 6 , wherein the mounting member and the receiving member are extruded.

13 . A frameless wall decor article mounting system according to claim 6 , wherein the spacer includes back to back tape squares and a release tape of the tape square that contacts the generally vertical support surface.

14 . A frameless wall decor article including a mounting member attached thereto, the mounting member including an attachment surface attached to a surface of the frameless wall decor article, a vertical engaging surface configured to engage a vertical engaging surface of a receiving member, attached to a generally vertical support surface, in abutting relation, and a downward support surface perpendicular to a vertical centerline of the frameless wall decor article.

15 . A frameless wall decor article according to claim 14 , wherein the frameless wall decor article is a mirror.

16 . A frameless wall decor article according to claim 14 , wherein the attachment surface is grooved.

17 . A frameless wall decor article according to claim 14 , wherein the mounting member is attached to the frameless wall decor article by adhesive.
