Abstract

A compound represented by the following general formula (I), wherein R 1 and R 2 represent a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 26 carbon atoms, preferably a linear or branched alkyl group, R3 represents a hydrocarbon group having 7 to 10 carbon atoms, preferably a linear or branched alkyl group, n represents 1 or 2 provided that the acidic amino acid residue in the molecule is L-aspartic acid residue when n is 1 and said acidic amino acid residue is L-glutamic acid residue when n is 2, and a gelling agent for an oil comprising said compound.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1 . A compound represented by the following general formula (I):

Wherein R 1 and R 2 independently represent a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 26 carbon atoms, R 3 represents a hydrocarbon group having 7 to 10 carbon atoms, n represents 1 or 2 provided that the acidic amino acid residue in the molecule is L-aspartic acid residue when n is 1 and said acidic amino acid residue is L-glutamic acid residue when n is 2.

2 . The compound according to claim 1 , wherein R 1 and R 2 independently represent a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 26 carbon atoms, R 3 represents a linear or branched alkyl group having 7 to 10 carbon atoms, and n represents 2.

3 . The compound according to claim 1 , which is N-2-ethylhexanoyl-L-glutamic acid dibutylamide, N-octanoyl-L-glutamic acid dibutylamide, or N-decanoyl-L-glutamic acid dibutylamide.

4 . The compound according to claim 1 , which is N-2-ethylhexanoyl-L-glutamic acid dibutylamide.

5 . A gelling agent for an oil which comprises at least one compound according to any one of claims 1 to 4 .

6 . A gelling agent for an oil which comprises at least one compound according to any one of claims 1 to 4 and N-lauroyl-L-glutamic acid dibutylamide.

7 . The gelling agent according to claim 6 , wherein a ratio of total weight of the compound according to any one of claims 1 to 4 and weight of N-lauroyl-L-glutamic acid dibutylamide is 35:5 to 5:35.

8 . A gel composition containing (a) a gelling agent according to any one of claims 5 to 7 , and (b) at least one oil.

9 . The gel composition according to claim 8 , which is a translucent composition.

10 . The gel composition according to claim 8 or 9 , which further contains (c) at least one antiperspirant active ingredient.

11 . A cosmetic comprising a gel composition according to any one of claims 8 to 10 .
