Abstract

A money card holding device comprising a continuous ribbon of metal having an intermediate support portion and first and second clip portions at opposite ends and on opposite sides of the support portion. Each of the clip portions has a lever portion connected to the intermediate support portion by a spring portion formed by bending the ribbon of metal into an arcuate form so that the distal end of the lever portion is resiliently biased against a flat surface of the intermediate support portion.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A money/card holding device comprising:
a continuous ribbon of metal having an intermediate support portion and first and second clip portions at opposite ends and on opposite sides of said support portion; said intermediate support portion providing first and second flat surfaces on opposite sides thereof; said first clip portion having a lever portion connected to a first end of said intermediate support portion by a spring portion formed by bending said ribbon of metal into an arcuate form so that the distal end of said lever portion is resiliently biased against said first flat surface of said intermediate support portion thereby; said second clip portion having a lever portion connected to a second end of said intermediate support portion by a spring portion formed by bending said ribbon of metal into an arcuate form so that the distal end of said lever portion is resiliently biased against said second flat surface of said intermediate support portion thereby.

2 . The money/card holding device of claim 1 in which the distal end of each of said lever portions of each of said first and second clip portions is bent away from the corresponding flat surface of said intermediate support portion to provide a tab for urging said lever portion away from said corresponding flat surface upon engagement by money or cards and at the base of which is provided a gripping surface for gripping engagement with said money or card when placed in said clip portion.

3 . The money/card holding device of claim 2 in which said tabs are formed by bending said distal ends of said lever portions to an angle of approximately thirty degrees.

4 . The money/card holding device of claim 1 in which said ribbon of metal is formed from a titanium alloy.

5 . The money/card holding device of claim 1 in which said arcuate form of said spring portion of each of said clip portion is formed by bending said ribbon of metal slightly more than one hundred eighty degrees.
