A box having a bottom panel, a rear panel, a front panel and two pairs of opposed side panels in which two pair of opposed side panels in which two pair of triangular connecting panels each have a fold line such that when the folding panel portions are folded inwardly or outwardly, the other panels move upwardly to form the box or downwardly, respectively to enable access to the contents of the box.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A box comprising:
 a) a bottom panel, a rear panel, a front panel and two pair of opposed side panels which are operatively connected to the bottom panel to enable the panels to be folded into the box; and b) two pair of triangular connecting panels, one pair of said triangular connecting panels operatively engaged to the front panel and one of the side panels and the other pair of said triangular connecting panels operatively engaged to the rear panel and the other of the side panels, each triangular connecting panel having a fold line along an axis thereof forming two smaller substantially identical folding panel portions wherein when the folding panel portions are folded inwardly, the front panel, rear panel and side panels are moved upwardly to form the box and when the panel portions are folded outwardly, the front panel, rear panel and side panels move downwardly enabling access to the contents of the box.

2 . The box of claim 1 wherein each of the side panels comprise a first side panel portion connected to the bottom panel through a fold line and a second panel portion connected to the first panel portion, said triangular connecting panels being operatively engaged to the first side panel portion through a fold line.

3 . The box of claim 1 wherein each of the front and rear panels each comprise a first panel portion connected to the bottom panel through a fold line and a second panel portion connected to the first panel portion, said triangular connecting panels being operatively engaged to the first panel portion through a fold line.

4 . The box of claim 1 wherein the second panel portions of the side panels are foldable into a position overlapping each other to form a top panel.

5 . The box of claim 1 wherein the second panel portions of the front and rear panels are foldable into a position overlapping each other.

6 . The box of claim 4 wherein the second panel portions of the front and rear panels are foldable into a position overlapping each other and are superimposed over the overlapped second panel portions of the side panels.

7 . The box of claim 5 further comprising an attachment means for securing the second panel portions of the front and rear panels together in the overlapped position.

8 . The box of claim 7 wherein the attachment means is reversible enabling the second panel portions to disengage from each other.

9 . The box of claim 1 comprising fold lines connecting the bottom panel, the rear panel, the front panel, side panels and connecting panels enabling the box to be folded from a first position in which an upper surface of the bottom panel is contained with in the box to a second position wherein the upper surface of the bottom panel forms an outer surface of the box.

10 . The box of claim 1 wherein at least one of the panels has an inside surface having printed indicia thereon.

11 . The box of claim 10 wherein the bottom panel has an inside surface having printed indicia thereon.
