Abstract
A nail trimmer and method in which a transparent viewing area is provided immediately to the rear of one of a pair of cutting edges to enable observation of the inserted nail part while trimming the nail.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A nail trimmer comprising:
a pair of jaw pieces each having a cutting edge in an opposing position with respect to the cutting edge of the other jaw piece; said jaw pieces mounted to be movable together from a separated position to enable the respective cutting edges to be forced together to create a cutting action on a nail part inserted between said cutting edges; and an area immediately to the rear of one of said cutting edges being transparent to allow observation of a nail part inserted between said opposing cutting edges.
2 . The nail trimmer according to claim 1 wherein a window opening is formed in one of said jaw pieces adjacent the associated cutting edge comprising said transparent area.
3 . The nail trimmer according to claim 2 wherein a transparent piece is fit into said window opening.
4 . The nail trimmer according to claim 1 wherein one jaw piece is formed from transparent material providing said transparent area.
5 . A method of trimming a nail comprising the step of:
positioning a pair of jaw pieces spaced apart, each having a respective opposing cutting edge; providing a transparent viewing area immediately to the rear of at least one of said cutting edges; inserting a part of a nail between said cutting while viewing said nail portion through said viewing area; and, forcing said cutting edges together to trim said nail.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
