Attachable mailer

Abstract

A mailer, for attachment to an object to be mailed, has an integrally constructed single sheet mailer having a detachable form and a recipient address label. The detachable form may be used with certified mailing as a return receipt post card.

What is claimed is:  
     
         1 . A mailer for attachment to an object to be mailed by a sender to a recipient, said assembly comprising: 
 (a) a single sheet having a first and second surface, said sheet comprising an integral one piece structure, said sheet comprising: 
 (i) a first detachable form comprising an integral one piece part of said sheet, said first detachable form defined in said single sheet by a frangible boarder, said first detachable form being detachable from said sheet along said frangible boarder, said first detachable form including indicia indicative of a predefined use for said first detachable form; and  
 (ii) a recipient address label for recipient indicia.  
   
     
     
         2 . The mailer of  claim 1 , wherein said sheet includes first and second panels connected to each other at a first interface.  
     
     
         3 . The mailer of  claim 2 , wherein said second panel is connected to said first panel along at least a portion of said frangible boarder of said first detachable form.  
     
     
         4 . The mailer of  claim 2 , wherein said first interface is defined by a foldline.  
     
     
         5 . The mailer of  claim 2 , wherein said first detachable form is disposed within said first panel and said recipient address label is disposed within said second panel.  
     
     
         6 . The mailer of  claim 2  or  5 , further comprising a third panel connected to at least one of said first and second panels at a second interface.  
     
     
         7 . The mailer of  claim 6 , wherein said second interface is defined by a foldline.  
     
     
         8 . The mailer of  claim 6 , wherein at least a portion of said third panel is detachable from said sheet.  
     
     
         9 . The mailer of  claim 8 , wherein said at least a portion of said third panel comprises a second detachable form comprising an integral one piece part of said sheet, said second detachable form defined in said single sheet by a frangible boarder, said second detachable form being detachable from said sheet along said frangible boarder, said second detachable form including indicia indicative of a predefined use for said second detachable form.  
     
     
         10 . The mailer of  claim 9 , wherein said second detachable form comprises a receipt for retention by said sender prior to mailing said object  
     
     
         11 . The mailer of  claim 8 , wherein said at least a portion is defined by a frangible boarder  
     
     
         12 . The mailer of  claim 8 , wherein all of said third panel is detachable from said sheet.  
     
     
         13 . The mailer of  claim 1 , wherein said first detachable form comprises first and second surfaces corresponding to said first and second surfaces of said sheet, said first surface including indicia thereon defining an area for entering sender indicia.  
     
     
         14 . The mailer of  claim 13 , wherein said second surface of said first detachable form includes indicia thereon defining an area for entering recipient indicia.  
     
     
         15 . The mailer of  claim 13 , wherein said second surface of said first detachable form includes recipient indicia thereon.  
     
     
         16 . The mailer of  claim 1 , wherein said first detachable form comprises first and second surfaces corresponding to said first and second surfaces of said sheet, said first surface including sender indicia thereon.  
     
     
         17 . The mailer of  claim 16 , wherein said second surface of said first detachable form includes indicia thereon defining an area for entering recipient indicia.  
     
     
         18 . The mailer of  claim 16 , wherein said second surface of said first detachable form includes recipient indicia thereon.  
     
     
         19 . The mailer of  claim 1 , wherein said first detachable form comprises a return post card.  
     
     
         20 . The mailer of  claim 1 , wherein said sheet further comprises a second detachable form comprising an integral one piece part of said sheet, said second detachable form defined in said single sheet by a frangible boarder, said second detachable form being detachable from said sheet along said frangible boarder, said second detachable form including indicia indicative of a predefined use for said second detachable form.  
     
     
         21 . The mailer of  claim 20 , wherein said second detachable form comprises a receipt for retention by said sender prior to mailing said object.  
     
     
         22 . The mailer of claims  19  or  21 , wherein said mailing is a special services mailing and said sheet includes special services indicia indicative of said special services.  
     
     
         23 . The mailer of  claim 22 , wherein said special services indicia includes tracking indicia.  
     
     
         24 . The mailer of  claim 1 , further comprising adhesive disposed on at least a portion of said second surface of said sheet whereby said sheet may be secured to said object without securing said detachable form to said object.  
     
     
         25 . The mailer of  claim 24 , wherein said adhesive must be actuated in order to secure said sheet to said object.  
     
     
         26 . The mailer of  claim 24 , wherein said adhesive is actuatable by moistening said adhesive  
     
     
         27 . The mailer of  claim 24 , wherein said adhesive is covered by at least one protective strip, said adhesive being actuatable by removing said at least one protective strip.  
     
     
         28 . The mailer of  claim 1 , wherein said first detachable form comprises first and second surfaces corresponding to said first and second surfaces of said sheet, and said first detachable form comprises first and second portions connected to each other at a foldline, whereby prior to attachment to the object, said first portion may separated along a respective portion of its frangible boarder and folded along said foldline such that the second surface of said first portion is facing the second surface of said second portion.  
     
     
         29 . The mailer of  claim 28 , wherein said mailer includes adhesive disposed on at least a portion of said second surface of at least one of said first and second portions.  
     
     
         30 . The mailer of  claim 28 , wherein said first surface of said first detachable form includes indicia thereon related to the sender and recipient.  
     
     
         31 . The mailer of  claim 30 , wherein said indicia includes form indicia thereon defining at least one area for entering sender indicia or recipient indicia.  
     
     
         32 . The mailer of  claim 28 , wherein said first surface of said first portion includes sender indicia thereon, and said first surface of said second portion includes recipient indicia thereon.  
     
     
         33 . The mailer of  claim 28 , wherein said first surface of said first detachable form includes all form indicia thereon necessary for use of said first detachable form as a domestic return receipt.  
     
     
         34 . The mailer of  claim 28 , wherein said sheet includes an anchor portion connected to said second portion of said first detachable form along at least a portion of said frangible boarder, said anchor portion comprising first and second surfaces corresponding to said first and second surfaces of said sheet, said sheet comprising adhesive disposed on at least a portion of said second surface of said anchor portion.  
     
     
         35 . The mailer of  claim 34 , wherein said sheet includes first and second panels connected to each other, said first detachable form is disposed within said first panel and said recipient address label is disposed within said second panel.  
     
     
         36 . The mailer of  claim 35 , wherein said second panel is connected to said first panel along at least a portion of said frangible boarder of said first detachable form.  
     
     
         37 . The mailer of  claim 34 , further comprising a second detachable form comprising an integral one piece part of said sheet, said second detachable form defined in said single sheet by a frangible boarder, said second detachable form being detachable from said sheet along said frangible boarder, said second detachable form including indicia indicative of a predefined use for said second detachable form.  
     
     
         38 . The mailer of  claim 37 , wherein said second detachable form is disposed within said second panel.  
     
     
         39 . The mailer of claims  37  or  38 , wherein at least a portion of said frangible boarder of said second detachable form is adjacent said recipient address label.  
     
     
         40 . The mailer of  claim 39 , wherein a portion of said frangible boarder of said second detachable form is adjacent said first detachable form.  
     
     
         41 . The mailer of  claim 37 , wherein said second detachable form comprises a receipt for retention by said sender prior to mailing said object  
     
     
         42 . The mailer of claims  28  or  37 , wherein said mailing is a special services mailing and said sheet includes special services indicia indicative of said special services.  
     
     
         43 . The mailer of  claim 42 , wherein said special services indicia includes tracking indicia.  
     
     
         44 . The mailer of  claim 28 , further comprising a second detachable form comprising an integral one piece part of said sheet, said second detachable form defined in said single sheet by a frangible boarder, said second detachable form being detachable from said sheet along said frangible boarder, said second detachable form including indicia indicative of a predefined use for said second detachable form.  
     
     
         45 . A method of preparing an object for delivery comprising the steps of: 
 (a) providing a single sheet having a first and second surface, said sheet comprising an integral one piece structure, said sheet comprising a first detachable form and a recipient address label for recipient indicia, said first detachable form defined in said single sheet by a frangible boarder, said first detachable form being detachable from said sheet along said frangible boarder, said first detachable form including indicia indicative of a predefined use for said first detachable form; and    (b) attaching said sheet to the object while said first detachable form and said recipient address label remain integral to said sheet.    
     
     
         46 . The method of  claim 45 , further comprising the step of including sender indicia on said first detachable form.  
     
     
         47 . The method of  claim 45 , further comprising the step of including recipient indicia on said first detachable form.  
     
     
         48 . The method of  claim 45 , further comprising the step of including recipient indicia on said recipient address label.  
     
     
         49 . The method of  claim 45 , further comprising the step of providing a second detachable form as a part of said sheet, said second detachable form defined in said sheet by a frangible boarder, said second detachable form being detachable from said sheet along said frangible boarder, said second detachable form including indicia indicative of a predefined use for said second detachable form.  
     
     
         50 . The method of  claim 49 , further comprising the step of detaching said second detachable form from said sheet after the step of attaching said sheet to the object.  
     
     
         51 . The method of  claim 45 , further comprising the step of designating the object for delivery by a special service.  
     
     
         52 . The method of claim  51 , wherein the step of designating the object for delivery by a special service comprises the step of including on said sheet special services indicia indicative of said special services.  
     
     
         53 . The method of  claim 45 , wherein said object includes an edge, the method further comprising the step of providing said sheet with first and second panels connected to each other at a foldline, said first detachable receipt is disposed within said first panel and said recipient address label is disposed within said second and the step of attaching said sheet to the object includes the step of aligning said fold line with said edge.
