Curling iron mitt

Abstract

A curling iron mitt which acts as a holder for a curling iron when it is hot or cold and which also provides a surface upon which to lay a hot curling iron so that it will not scorch the surface the mitt is laying upon. The mitt has a closure to keep the iron within its confines and a quilted outer layer.

1 . A curling iron mitt for providing a carrying pouch for curling irons in either hot or cold condition and for providing a surface upon which to lay a hot iron, said mitt comprising, 
 a pouch comprising an inner heat resistant layer and a padded layer, said heat resistant layer adapted to contain and absorb the heat from a hot iron,    a childproof lock on said pouch for preventing tampering by a child,    said pouch adapted to receive an iron, in either hot or cold condition, within its confines.    
     
     
         2 . A curling iron mitt as in  claim 1  wherein said pouch has a loop section which has a drawstring therein, said drawstring having a slidable childproof lock there for preventing tampering by a child after said lock has been snugged up on said drawstring for closing said pouch around an iron inside.  
     
     
         3 . A curling iron as in  claim 1  wherein said pouch has a quilted layer on at least one side thereof, said quilted layer being decorative and being helpful in dispersing the heat from a hot iron within the pouch.  
     
     
         4 . A curling iron as in  claim 1  wherein said heat resistant layer forms an inner layer on said pouch and said padded layer forms an outer layer, said pouch being reversible by being turned inside out so as to provide a pad for laying the hot iron upon during use.  
     
     
         5 . A curling iron as in  claim 5  wherein said heat resistant layer has a metallic layer thereon to prevent scorching by said hot iron.  
     
     
         6 . A curling iron as in  claim 1  wherein said pouch has a quilted layer on one side thereof and a heat resistant layer on the opposite side to provide a heat resistant pad for laying the hot iron upon during use.  
     
     
         7 . A curling iron and pouch combination, said combination comprising 
 a curling iron,    a pouch for receiving said curling iron, said pouch having a quilted layer on at least one side thereof and a heat resistant layer for receiving said hot iron,    drawstring means on said pouch for securing said iron within and a childproof lock on said drawstring.    
     
     
         8 . A combination as in  claim 7  wherein said pouch has a heat resistant layer on one side thereof to provide a mat for laying said hot iron upon and a cotton layer with decorative motif on the opposite side.  
     
     
         9 . A combination as in  claim 7  wherein said pouch has a heat resistant layer as An inner layer and a padded quilted cotton layer as an outer layer and whereby s aid pouch may be reversed by turning inside out to provide a mat For laying the hot iron upon during use.  
     
     
         10 . A combination as in  claim 7  wherein said child-proof lock is slidable along Said drawstring and is only manipuable with both hands to prevent a child From opening said pouch and touch a hot iron inside.
