Abstract

The present invention provides a therapeutic agent and therapeutic method for treatment of mastitis in livestock comprising glycyrrhizin and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof as effective ingredients.

What is claimed is:  
     
         1 . A therapeutic agent for treatment of mastitis in livestock comprising glycyrrhizin or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof as effective ingredients.  
     
     
         2 . The therapeutic agent for treatment of mastitis in livestock according to  claim 1  for use during milk secretion periods.  
     
     
         3 . A therapeutic method for treatment of mastitis in livestock comprising administering glycyrrhizin or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof to the mammae of the livestock.  
     
     
         4 . The therapeutic method for treatment of mastitis in livestock according to  claim 3 , wherein glycyrrhizin or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof is administered by direct injection.  
     
     
         5 . The therapeutic method for treatment of mastitis in livestock according to  claim 3 , wherein glycyrrhizin is directly administered to the mammae of the livestock during the milk secretion period.  
     
     
         6 . The therapeutic agent for treatment of mastitis in livestock according to  claim 1 , wherein the livestock includes cattle.  
     
     
         7 . The therapeutic agent for treatment of mastitis in livestock according to  claim 2 , wherein the livestock includes cattle.  
     
     
         8 . The therapeutic method for treatment of mastitis in livestock according to  claim 3 , wherein the livestock includes cattle.  
     
     
         9 . The therapeutic method for treatment of mastitis in livestock according to  claim 4 , wherein the livestock includes a cattle.  
     
     
         10 . The therapeutic method for treatment of mastitis in livestock according to  claim 5 , wherein the livestock includes cattle.
