Abstract

Method of making a panty hose by circular knitting in which courses of stitches ( 3 ) of wrapped elastic yarn and preferably courses ( 4 ) of stitches of polyamide and/or natural fiber yarn are knitted over the height of the panty hose ( 1 ), whereby for attaining a holding function a greater number of, or tighter, elastic stitches are knitted, or thicker elastic yarn than in the leg portion is used, at least in portions of the girdle portion ( 2 ) formed without a holding band, or that for attaining the holding function courses ( 3 ) of elastic stitches of lesser height and/or of thicker yarn are knitted than polyamide stitch courses ( 4 ) provided in the girdle portion ( 2 ) and preferably alternatingly knitted with courses of elastic yarn.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . Method of making a panty hose by circular knitting in which courses of stitches of wrapped elastic yarn and preferably courses of stitches of polyamide and/or natural fiber yarn are knitted over the height of the panty hose, characterized by the fact that for attaining a holding function a greater number of, or tighter, elastic stitches are knitted, or thicker elastic yarn than in the leg portion is used, at least in portions of the girdle portion ( 2 ) formed without a holding band, or that for attaining the holding function courses ( 3 ) of elastic stitches of lesser height and/or of thicker yarn are knitted than polyamide stitch courses ( 4 ) provided in the girdle portion ( 2 ) and preferably alternatingly knitted with courses of elastic yarn.

2 . Method of claim 1 , characterized by the fact that additional elastic yarn is knitted into the girdle portion ( 2 ).

3 . Method of claim 1 , characterized by the fact in the girdle portion ( 2 ) courses ( 3 ) of elastic stitches of wrapped elastic yarn are provided which are only partially knitted into the girdle portion.
