Rabid animal control method

Abstract

A method is disclosed for luring attack-prone, rabies-infected mammals (e.g., carnivores, bats) into restraint and/or euthanasia but not luring normal, uninfected animals.

I claim:  
     
         1 . The use of various sounds, including high frequency sounds inaudible to man, whether developed or preexisting, as lures to attract for restraint and/or destruction attack-prone, rabies-infected animals (e.g., bats, carnivores), but not attract normal, rabies-free animals.  
     
     
         2 . A method for luring attack-prone, rabies-infected bats into restraint but not luring normal, uninfected bats, comprising: 
 providing a frame having a series of vertical wires or plastic lines therein;    mounting a sound source (either audible or inaudible ultrasonic sound) behind said wires or lines; and locating a smooth-sided hopper below said frame for collecting the rabies-infected bats which attack the sound source, encounter the wires, and slide down into the hopper.
