Abstract

A door stop is adapted to be deformably subjected to compressive and torque forces and to elastically return to its normal position after being subjected to said forces.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A door stop comprising
 (a) an anchor member including
 (i) a proximate end shaped and dimensioned to be wall mounted, and
 (ii) a distal end shaped and dimensioned to be engaged by a tool to wall mount said proximate end; and,
   (b) a compressible elastic body having a length in the range of one inch to four inches and including
 (i) a proximate end,
 (ii) a distal end, and
 (iii) an aperture extending inwardly from said proximate end and shape and dimensioned to slide over said distal end of said anchor member.

         2 . A method for halting the travel of a door, comprising the steps of
 (a) providing a door stop including
 (i) an anchor member adapted to be mounted on a structural member of a building structure, and
 (ii) an elastic, compressible, bendable rebound unit attached to said connection means and including at least one resilient elastomer;
   (b) mounting said anchor member on a structural member of the building to be struck by a door opening in the building; and, (c) mounting said rebound unit on said anchor member.
