Abstract

An improved pail structure includes a bottom end engaged with a substantially conical side wall and a top end which has a larger diameter than the bottom end, an annular flange extended horizontally outward from the top end, an annular ring extended upward and tilted slightly outward from the flange, a top rim extended outward from the top edge of the top ring, and a first edge rim folded downward from the top rim. A plastic lining is encased within the inner walls of the pail and has a stepwise upper end matched against the flange and ring and top rim of the pail and a second edge rim covering the first edge rim from outside. A circular lid is provided to engage with the pail at the upper section around the flange and has two lugs formed at two opposite sides for engaging two handles. A pail lid and a protection cover are provided to cover the top opening of the pail. The lid and protection cover have perforation lines to facilitate opening of the pail lid and to prevent the pail lid from opening during transportation and carrying for protecting goods held in the pail from pouring out. The plastic lining may prevent the goods from spoiling by rusting of the pail.

What is claimed is:

1 . An improved pail structure, comprising:
a pail including a bottom end engaged with a substantially conical side wall and a top end which has a larger diameter than the bottom end, an annular flange extended horizontally outward from the top end, an annular ring extended upward and tilted slightly outward from the flange, a top rim extended outward from the top edge of the ring, and a first edge rim folded downward from the top rim; a plastic lining encased within the inner walls of the pail having a stepwise upper end matched against the flange and the annular ring and the top rim of the pail and a second edge rim covering the first edge rim from outside; a wedge ring fixedly engaged with the upper end of the plastic lining having an annular upper ring and lower ring contacted respectively with the inner upper circumference of the plastic lining opposite to the ring and flange, and a third edge rim to shroud the second edge rim such that the pail, plastic lining and wedge ring integrally forming a sturdy pail opening; a circular lid having two lugs formed at two opposite sides thereof, a plurality of arched shaped tenons equally spaced around the circumference thereof and extended downward to engage with the bottom side of the flange, and a plurality of arch shaped members disposed at the circumference of the lid at transverse diagonal locations; the lugs engaging respectively with one end of a right handle and a left handle, the right handle having an arched middle section and a hook formed in the middle section, the left handle having another arched middle section and an aperture formed in the another middle section for engaging with the hook; each tenon having an elongated ridge located at an upper section thereof, a triangle member located at a lower section which has a slant side and a rectangular wedge block located at the center and upper section for engaging with the bottom side of the flange; each arch shaped member having a rectangular upper section and a taper lower section and a protrusive slant member located in the center thereof projecting inward; the arch shaped members and tenons being aligned in a curve and having a first perforation line running cross therethrough; and a pail lid and a protection cover located above the pail lid having a plurality of longitudinal and transverse ribs, and an opening ring which has a tongue shaped tab integrally formed with a second perforation line which links the first perforation line; wherein the pail lid is openable by prying the opening ring to tear the second perforation line then to tear the first perforation line, and is capable of closing the pail opening securely with the protection cover engaged thereabove whereby to prevent goods held in the pail from pouring out during transportation and carrying; the right and left handles being capable of swinging above the pail lid to engage with each other through the hook and aperture to facilitate carrying of the pail without riveting additional lugs to the pail for supporting the handles.
