Reduced frontage garage
Abstract
A reduced frontage garage configured to accommodate a plurality of motor vehicles. This garage includes a door that is insufficiently wide to accommodate entry of the entire plurality of vehicles in parallel side-by-side relation. The garage also includes a flared interior garage enclosure configured to allow the vehicles to pass through the door sequentially and stop in a substantially radial parking arrangement within the garage in which adjacent vehicles are parked at acute angles to each other. This substantially radial parking arrangement allows each vehicle to pass through the door and park in a designated parking space while veering the vehicle to at most one side of its orientation of straight travel. The building may also include a carport adjacent to the reduced frontage garage and accessible from a common driveway. The radial parking area may also be bifurcated by a building structure. In various configurations, the invention provides for two-car, three-car, four-car and five-car designs, with and without carports, and with and without a bifurcated radial parking area. Of course, the teaching of the invention may be extended to provide for a greater number of parking spaces, parking spaces configures to accommodate other types of vehicles, such as golf carts, lawn mowers, motorcycles, snowmobiles, trucks, boats, and so forth.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThe invention claimed is:
1 . A building including a reduced frontage garage configured to accommodate a plurality of motor vehicles, comprising:
a door that is insufficiently wide to accommodate entry of the entire plurality of vehicles in parallel side-by-side relation; and a flared interior garage enclosure defining multiple vehicle parking spaces in a substantially radial parking arrangement at acute angles to each other.
2 . The building of claim 1 , wherein:
each vehicle defines an orientation of straight travel; and the substantially radial parking arrangement allows each vehicle to pass through the door and park in a designated parking space while veering the vehicle to at most one side of its orientation of straight travel.
3 . The building of claim 1 , further comprising a carport adjacent to the reduced frontage garage and accessible from a common driveway.
4 . The building of claim 1 , wherein the garage is configured to house two vehicles.
5 . The building of claim 1 , wherein the garage is configured to house three vehicles.
6 . The building of claim 1 , wherein the garage is configured to house four vehicles.
7 . The building of claim 1 , wherein the garage is configured to house five vehicles.
8 . The building of claim 3 , wherein the garage is configured to house two vehicles.
9 . The building of claim 3 , wherein the garage is configured to house three vehicles.
10 . The building of claim 3 , wherein the garage is configured to house four vehicles.
11 . The building of claim 3 , wherein the garage is configured to house five vehicles.
12 . The building of claim 4 , wherein the garage comprises a bifurcated radial parking area.
13 . The building of claim 5 ,wherein the garage comprises a bifurcated radial parking area.
14 . The building of claim 6 , wherein the garage comprises a bifurcated radial parking area.
15 . The building of claim 7 , wherein the garage comprises a bifurcated radial parking area.
16 . A building including a reduced frontage garage configured to accommodate a plurality of motor vehicles, comprising:
a door that is insufficiently wide to accommodate entry of the entire plurality of vehicles in parallel side-by-side relation; and a garage interior defining a substantially radial parking arrangement that allows each vehicle to pass through the door and park in a designated parking space while veering the vehicle to at most one side of its orientation of straight travel.
17 . The building of claim 1 , further comprising a carport adjacent to the reduced frontage garage and accessible from a common driveway.
18 . The building of claim 16 , wherein the garage comprises a bifurcated radial parking area.
19 . The building of claim 16 , wherein the garage defines a flared interior enclosure defining multiple vehicle parking spaces in a substantially radial parking arrangement at acute angles to each other.
20 . A building including a reduced frontage garage configured to accommodate a plurality of motor vehicles, comprising:
a door that is insufficiently wide to accommodate entry of the entire plurality of vehicles in parallel side-by-side relation; a flared interior garage enclosure defining multiple vehicle parking spaces in a substantially radial parking arrangement at acute angles to each other; wherein the flared interior garage enclosure is configured to allow the vehicles to pass through the door sequentially and stop in a substantially radial parking arrangement within the garage in which adjacent vehicles are parked at acute angles to each other; wherein the substantially radial parking arrangement allows each vehicle to pass through the door and park in a designated parking space while veering the vehicle to at most one side of its orientation of straight travel.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
