Garage door screen apparatus
Abstract
A garage door screen apparatus for forming a screen barrier about a garage entryway that provides ventilation therein and facilitates ingress and egress therethrough. According to a preferred embodiment, the apparatus comprises one or more screen panels transitional between a closed configuration wherein the screen or screens substantially covers the garage entryway, and a second open configuration wherein the screen or screens are maintained in a retracted state. According to preferred embodiments, the screen panels maybe arranged in a curtain-like manner, suspended from rolls on either the side or top portions of the garage entryway, or formed as part of the garage door such that the garage door screen apparatus may be deployed about the garage entryway when the garage door assumes an open configuration.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A garage door screen apparatus for selectively forming a screen barrier about a garage entryway comprising:
a) at least one screen panel member extensible substantially about the opening defined by said garage entryway; and b) wherein said screen panel member is operatively transitional between a first configuration wherein said screen is substantially extended about said opening defined by said garage entryway and a second open configuration wherein said screen panel member is substantially removed away from said garage entryway.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said apparatus comprises at least two screen panel members, said screen panel members being formed to cooperatively cover said opening defined by said garage entryway.
3 . The apparatus of claim 2 wherein said apparatus comprises a fastener apparatus to enable said screen panel members to be detachably fastened to one another.
4 . The apparatus of claim 2 wherein said apparatus comprises first and second screen panel members and further includes a support rod member interconnectable therewith such that said support rod member selectively supports said first and second screen panel members in a curtain-like fashion about said garage entryway.
5 . The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said apparatus further includes:
a) a support rod mountable about said garage entryway and coupled to said at least one screen panel member such that said screen panel member may extend therefrom to define said closed configuration and rolled thereabout to assume said open configuration.
6 . The apparatus of claim 5 wherein said support rod is positioned over said garage entryway such that at least one said screen panel member maybe pulled downwardly therefrom to assume said closed configuration.
7 . The apparatus of claim 5 wherein said support rod is positioned upon a respective side of said garage entryway such that said screen panel member may be extended laterally across said entryway to assume said closed configuration.
8 . A garage door screen apparatus for selectively forming a screen barrier about a garage entryway comprising:
a) a housing attachable to a garage door, said garage door defining an entryway into said garage; b) a screen panel member attached to said housing, said screen panel member being operatively transitionable between a first configuration wherein said screen member is substantially extensible about said garage entryway and a second open configuration wherein said screen panel member is substantially removed away from said garage entryway; and c) wherein when said garage door is opened, said screen panel member is operatively transitional between said first and second configurations.
9 . The apparatus of claim 8 wherein said housing comprises elongate pole member formed upon the interior side of said garage door.
10 . The apparatus of claim 8 wherein said housing comprises elongate bar about which said screen panel member maybe rolled to assume said open configuration.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
