Abstract

A treatment for cancer and compounds for use therewith are provided. The compounds treat cancer by correcting a TATA box lesion in DNA that leads to the cancer's uncontrolled cell proliferation. The preferred compounds each contain strontium; iodine; ascorbic acid; and a diamagnetic ion, either bismuth, zinc, or potassium. These components orient the compound, transport it to the lesion, dissociate the aberrational bonds of the lesion, hydrogenate the dissociated TATA nucleotides at the lesion, and reconvert the lesion's chemical structure to that of normal DNA.

1 . A method for treating cancer, comprising dissociating covalent bonds in an ozonide lesion in an oncogene's TATA box.  
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising orienting a compound toward the TATA box and directing the compound to the lesion.  
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising reconverting the TATA box to the chemical structure of normal DNA.  
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the compound is directed to the lesion by a diamagnetic ion in the compound.  
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4 , wherein the diamagnetic ion carries the compound to the lesion.  
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the compound splits the ozonide lesion's covalent bonds.  
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the ozonide structure is reconverted to that of the TATA box's normal thymine nucleoside.  
     
     
         8 . A compound used to treat cancer, comprising iodine linked to a stabilized metal salt linked to an organic acid linked to strontium.  
     
     
         9 . The compound of  claim 8 , wherein said stabilized metal salt is a diamagnetic ion.  
     
     
         10 . The compound of  claim 9 , wherein said diamagnetic ion is bismuth.  
     
     
         11 . The compound of  claim 9 , wherein said diamagnetic ion is zinc.  
     
     
         12 . The compound of  claim 9 , wherein said diamagnetic ion is potassium.  
     
     
         13 . The compound of  claim 8 , wherein said organic acid is ascorbic acid.  
     
     
         14 . The compound of  claim 9 , wherein said organic acid is ascorbic acid.  
     
     
         15 . The compound of any of claims  8  through  14 , wherein said compound coordinates with an ozonide lesion in a cancerous cell's oncogene's TATA box.  
     
     
         16 . The compound of  claim 8  or  9 , wherein said compound is bismuth iodiscorbate.  
     
     
         17 . The compound of  claim 8  or  9 , wherein said compound is zinc iodiscorbate.  
     
     
         18 . The compound of  claim 8  or  9 , wherein said compound is potassium iodiscorbate.
