Insecticidal and miticidal compositions

Abstract

This invention relates to an insecticidal and miticidal composition which contains as active ingredients chlorfenapyr [4-bromo-2-(chlorophenyl)-1-(ethoxymethyl)-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrrole-3-carbonitrile] in combination with asynergistic amount of at least one of a carbamate-type insecticidal compound.

1 . An insecticidal and miticidal composition which contains as active ingredients chlorfenapyr [4-bromo-2-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-(ethoxymethyl)-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrrole-3-carbonitrile] in combination with at least one of a carbamate-type insecticidal compound.  
     
     
         2 . The composition according to  claim 1  wherein the carbamate-type insecticidal compound is selected from the group consisting of 2-sec-butytphenyl-N-methylcarbamate, 2-isopropylphenyl-N-methylcarbamate, m-tolyl-N-methylcarbamate, 3,4-xylyl-N-methylcarbamate, 1-naphthyl-N-methylcarbamate, 2-isopropoxyphenyl-N-methylcarbamate, 3,5-xylyl-N-methylcarbamate, ethyl (Z)-N-benzyl-N-[[methyl(1-methylthioethylideneaminooxy-carbonyl)amino]thio]-β-alaninate, 2-(ethylthiomethyl)-phenyl methylcarbamate, methyl-N,N′-dimethyl-N-[(methyl-carbamoyl)oxy]-1-thioxamimidate, 2,3-dihydro-2,2-dimethyl-7-benzo[b]furanyl N-dibutylaminothio-N-methyl-carbamate, 3,7,9,13-Tetramethyl-5,11-dioxa-2,8,14-trithia-4,7,9,12-tetraazapentadeca-3,12-diene-6,10-dione, 2-dimethylamino-5,6-dimethylpyrimidin-4-yl dimethylcarbamate, 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-benzodioxol-4-yl methylcarbamate, ethyl N-[2,3-dihydro-2,2-dimethylbenzo-furan-7-yloxycarbonyl(methyl)aminothio]-N-isopropyl-β-alaninate and S-methyl-N-[(methylcarbamoyl)oxy]thio-acetimidate.  
     
     
         3 . The composition according to  claim 2  wherein the carbamate-type insecticidal compound is selected from 2-sec-butylphenyl-N-methylcarbamate, 1-naphthyl-N-methylcarbamate and 2-(ethylthiomethyl)phenyl methylcarbamate.  
     
     
         4 . The composition according to any of claims  1 - 3  wherein the chlorfenapyr is present in a ratio of about 1 weight part to about 0.01-100 weight parts of the carbamate-type insecticidal ingredient(s).  
     
     
         5 . The composition according to  claim 4  wherein the ratio is about 1 weight part of chlorfenapyr to about 0.5-20 weight parts of the carbamate-type insecticidal ingredient(s).  
     
     
         6 . A process for the preparation of a composition of  claim 1  which comprises admixing the active ingredients with an agrohorticulturally acceptable solid or liquid carrier.  
     
     
         7 . The process according to  claim 6  wherein the active ingredients comprise chlorfenapyr in combination with at least one selected from 2-sec-butylphenyl-N-methylcarbamate, 1-naphthyl-N-methylcarbamate and 2-(ethylthiomethyl)phenyl methylcarbamate.  
     
     
         8 . The process according to  claim 7  wherein the chlorfenapyr is present in a ratio of about 1 weight part to about 0.5-20 weight parts of at least one selected from 2-sec-butylphenyl-N-methylcarbamate, 1-naphthyl-N-methylcarbamate and 2-(ethylthiomethyl)-phenyl methylcarbamate.
