Abstract
A flexible cleaning and drying mitt has a pouch compartment formed therein which is proportioned for receiving the hand of a user. The mitt has a pair of removable cover faces and a flat moisture-proof perimeter, which perimeter extends outward from a pair of work surfaces and in coextensive contact with each respective work surface of the pair of work surfaces. The pair of work surfaces includes a wetting face and a drying face, with respective wetting and drying pads thereon. The wetting pad is pre-soaked with a cleaning fluid for wipe-on application to a surface to be cleaned. The drying face has a drying pad mounted on an opposite side of the mitt from the wetting pad. The covers are releasably secured to the pouch compartment of the mitt. The pouch compartment includes a pair of separate moisture-sealed compartments, which are arranged to cooperate with the respective wetting and drying faces to form separate respective moisture proof enclosures about the respective wetting and drying pads of the mitt.

1 . A disposable cleaning mitt and packaging pouch system, comprising:
(a) a flexible mitt having an open pouch compartment formed therein which is proportioned for receiving the hand of a user; said pouch compartment having a proximal end through which an access passage opens into said pouch compartment; said pouch compartment having a distal end remote from said proximal end; said pouch compartment of said mitt having a pair of work surfaces and a moisture-proof perimeter; said perimeter extending outward from said pair of work surfaces and in coextensive contact with each respective work surface of said pair of work surfaces; said perimeter comprising a moisture barrier between said respective work surfaces; (b) said pair of work surfaces comprising respectively a wetting face and a drying face; said wetting face having a wetting pad mounted thereon; said wetting pad being pre-soaked with a cleaning fluid for wipe-on application to a surface to be cleaned; said drying face having a drying pad mounted thereon; (c) at least one sealed cover having means for releasably covering said pouch, said at least one cover being proportioned to enclose said pouch compartment of said mitt; said pouch compartment having a pair of separate moisture-sealed compartments; said compartments respectively being arranged to cooperate with said respective wetting and drying faces to form separate respective moisture proof enclosures about said respective wetting and drying work surfaces.
2 . The system of claim 1 wherein said at least one cover comprises a pair of covers joined by at least one sealed peripheral edge.
3 . The system as in claim 1 further comprising said distal end of said open compartment having a pull means extending therewithin for finger-grasp pulling of said mitt inside out in a position for disposal thereof.
4 . The system of claim 1 wherein said separate moisture-sealed compartments of said pouch compartment have means for individually releasably securing said separate moisture sealed compartments to said respective wetting and drying faces.
5 . The system of claim 4 wherein said means for individually releasably securing said separate compartments to said respective wetting and drying faces comprises individual user-removable peel off covers.
6 . The system of claim 5 wherein said mitt, said moisture-proof perimeter and said pouch are comprised of a heat-sealable thermoplastic polymer.
7 . The system of claim 6 wherein said polymer for said mitt and said flat moisture-proof perimeter comprises polyethylene and said polymer for said at least one cover comprises aluminized Mylar polyethylene.
8 . The system as in claim 6 wherein said thermoplastic polymer is polypropylene.
9 . The system as in claim 6 wherein said thermoplastic polymer is polyethylene.
10 . The system of claim 7 wherein said polyethylene for said pouch of said mitt and said flat moisture-proof perimeter comprises about 5 mil polyethylene film and said aluminized Mylar polyethylene for said at least one cover comprises co-extruded aluminized Mylar polyethylene film of a thickness from about 1.8 to 2.0 mils.
11 . The system of claim 10 wherein said co-extruded aluminized Mylar polyethylene film comprises an outer layer comprised of said aluminized Mylar polyethylene and an inner layer comprised of polyethylene.
12 . The system of claim 11 wherein said perimeter is releasably thermally bonded to said inner layer of said co-extruded aluminized Mylar polyethylene film.
13 . The system of claim 12 wherein said mitt is generally rectangular in shape and sized to accommodate the hand of a user.
14 . The system of claim 12 wherein said mitt is generally oval in shape and sized to accommodate the hand of a user.
13 . The system of claim 12 wherein said mitt is generally round in shape and sized to accommodate the hand of a user.
