Claims

Abstract

A casting die comprises upper and lower dies, each having integral projections for forming holes in a resulting die-cast product. When the upper and lower dies are engaged together, their respective projections are matched and contacted with one another to define bridge-like inner die elements between the two dies, so that holes may be readily formed via those inner die elements in a product being cast in the dies.

What is claimed is:  
     
         1 . A structure of casting die for forming a die-cast framework having at least one hole therein, comprising: 
 a first die means including a first sloped die surface area defined therein;    at least one first projection defined on said first sloped die surface area such as to diverge in one direction therefrom, said at least one first projection having a surface;    a second die means including a second sloped die surface area defined therein at a point corresponding to said fist sloped die surface area of said lower die means;    at least one second projection defined on said second sloped die surface area such as to converge therefrom in another direction opposite to said one direction associated with said at least one first projection, said at least one second projection having a surface to be neatly contacted with the surface of said at least one first projection; and    said surface of each of said at least one first projection and said at least one second projection being oriented in a direction along which said first and second die means are engaged with and disengaged apart from each other,    with such an arrangement that, when said first and second die means are engaged together, said at least one first projection and said at least one second projection are matched and aligned with each other to form one die element by which said at least one hole is to be defined in said die-cast framework.    
     
     
         2 . The casting die as defined in  claim 1 , wherein said first die means comprises an upper die having a downward protuberant die surface, wherein said first sloped die surface area comprises at least two sloped lateral die surfaces defined in said downward protuberant die surface, wherein said second die means comprises a lower die having a recessed die surface to be mated with said downward protuberant die surface of said upper die, wherein said second sloped die surface area comprises at least two sloped lateral die surfaces defined in said recessed die surface, wherein said at least one first projection is formed on each of said at least two sloped lateral die surfaces associated with said upper die, while said at least one second one second projection is formed on each of said at least two sloped lateral die surfaces associated with said lower die, and wherein said surfaces respectively of said at least one first projection and said at least one second projection extend vertically and perpendicularly with respect to said at least two sloped die surfaces.  
     
     
         3 . The casting die according to  claim 2 , wherein said at least two sloped lateral die surfaces are adapted to form a pair of lateral frame portions of the resulting framework, and wherein said at least one first projection and said at least one second projection are adapted to form at least one hole in each of said pair of lateral frame portions.  
     
     
         4 . The casting die according to  claim 3 , wherein said at least one hole is so adapted that an end of spring means is engaged therein, allowing the spring means to be extended between said pair of lateral frame portions.
