Emergency support for stabilizing individual limbs or body parts

Abstract

Emergency support for stabilization of individual limbs or body parts for transport or for performance of surgical-treatment measures, including a granulate-filled cushion ( 1 ) which is provided with a valve ( 2 ) for purposes of alternating evacuation and filling, and which allows at least partial surrounding of the limb or body part, made of two lengths of airtight flexible material which are connected on their edges, in which within the cushion interior which contains the granulate there are chokes ( 7 ) to prevent the free flow of granulate and the cushion in the middle area of its outer surface which faces away from the body after application is provided with a Velcro strip border ( 8 ) as part of a Velcro-pile connector, for fixation on a solid structure. The cushion on the inside and on the outside is provided with Velcro or pile spots ( 9, 10 ) of a Velcro-pile connector for fastening of another auxiliary element provided with a corresponding opposite border, especially a chin support and/or the filter system of a respirator.

What is claimed is:  
     
         1 . Emergency support for stabilization of individual limbs or body parts for transport or performance of surgical-treatment measures, comprising a granulate-filled cushion ( 1 ) which is provided with a valve ( 2 ) for purposes of alternating evacuation and filling, and which allows at least partial surrounding of the limb or body part, made of two lengths of airtight, flexible material which are connected on their edges, characterized in that within the cushion interior which contains the granulate there are baffles or chokes ( 7 ) to prevent free granulate flow and thus to preserve the distribution of the granulate dictated by the application, and the cushion in the middle area of its outer surface which faces away from the body after application is provided with a Velcro strip border ( 8 ) as part of a Velcro-pile connector, for direct fixation on a solid structure which is provided with a pile border or for attachment of a magnetic, adhesive PVC or similar adhesive film which bears the pile border, with which film it can be fixed on a structure which has a corresponding surface, for example an operating table or a dentist's chair.  
     
     
         2 . Emergency support as claimed in    claim 1   , wherein the lengths of the cushion are joined to one another in point or line form to narrow the flow cross section in its inner areas.  
     
     
         3 . Emergency support as claimed in    claim 1    or    2   , wherein the cushion comprises thermoplastic material and its strips are joined to one another in point or line form by mutual welding.  
     
     
         4 . Emergency support as claimed in one of    claims 1    to    3   , wherein the cushion is divided by means of lateral, aligned notches ( 3 ,  4 ) into two segments, of which one is used to surround the skull and the other is used to surround the nape-neck area, and in the area between the notches ( 3 ,  4 ) it is provided with a cross sectional narrowing ( 7 ) which prevents free flow of the granulate.

Emergency support as claimed in    claim 4   , wherein the cushion on its inside of the segment ( 6 ) which surrounds the nape-neck area and on the outside of the segment ( 5 ) which surrounds the skull is provided with Velcro or pile spots ( 9 ,  10 ,  12 ) of a Velcro-pile connector for detachable fastening of another auxiliary device which is provided with a corresponding opposite border, especially a chin support ( 14 ) and/or the filter system ( 17 ) of a respirator.

Emergency support as claimed in    claim 5   , wherein to attach the filter system ( 17 ) there is a pile band ( 19 ) which is provided with a head cushion ( 18 ) and which can be fixed at corresponding pile spots ( 9 ) of the cushion ( 1 ), on which surface facing away from the head cushion ( 18 ) at least one band ( 20 ,  21 ) is sewn permanently on one side and a Velcro spot ( 22 ) is attached to fix the pile band or bands ( 20 ,  21 ) on the opposite side.  
     
     
         7 . Emergency support as claimed in    claim 5   , wherein the chin support ( 12 ) in its area underneath the chin plate ( 13 ) is provided with a window ( 14 ) for performing diagnostic or first aid measures.  
     
     
         8 . Emergency support as claimed in one of    claims 1    to    3   , wherein the cushion is formed by a mat of air-permeable material which is divided into closed fields in the manner of a quilt and which has a jacket which contains the closing valve  1 .  
     
     
         9 . Emergency support as claimed in one of    claims 1    to    8   , wherein the cushion on the lateral edges of its outer surface is provided with several Velcro or pile band spots of a Velcro-pile connector.  
     
     
         10 . Emergency support as claimed in    claim 8    or    9   , wherein the cushion ( 26 ) has an essentially cruciform outline and is provided with side clips ( 29 ) which bear on their two surfaces on alternating sides Velcro and pile spots of a Velcro-pile connector.  
     
     
         11 . Emergency support as claimed in one or more of    claims 1    to    10   , wherein the solid structure is formed by a plastic, preferably Kevlar-Aramid, rescue plate or stretcher ( 32 ) which is coated with a pile border ( 31 ) and on which there are belts of a six-point belt ( 33 ) with a length which makes it possible to surround the cushion, including the supported patient, carrying loops ( 34 ), and a crane eye ( 35 ).

Emergency support as claimed in    claim 11   , wherein the essentially cruciform thoracic support ( 26 ) and the rescue plate are provided with covers ( 41 ,  43 ) which bear the pile or Velcro border and which are connected or can be connected to one another, the cover ( 41 ) which surrounds the cruciform thoracic support bearing the side clips ( 42 ) which bear on their two surfaces on alternating sides Velcro and pile spots of a Velcro-pile connector, while the cover ( 43 ) which surrounds the rescue plate has openings for passage of the belts ( 33 ), the carrying loops ( 34 ), the crane eye ( 35 ) and the pelvic cloth ( 36 ).  
     
     
         13 . Emergency support as claimed in    claim 12   , wherein the six-point belt ( 33 ) is provided with a central lock ( 37 ).  
     
     
         14 . Emergency support as claimed in one of    claims 1    to    13   , wherein the solid structure is formed by the shell ( 51 ) of a vehicle seat, for example a motor vehicle seat or an aircraft seat, or of a plate ( 52 ) which is connected to the shell ( 51 ) of a vehicle seat or which is integrated into it.  
     
     
         15 . Emergency support as claimed in    claim 14   , wherein the shell ( 51 ,  55 ) of the vehicle seat or the plate ( 52 ,  56 ) which is connected to it is provided with slits ( 57 ,  58 ) through which the belts ( 59 ) of the safety belt system installed permanently in the vehicle are guided, the belts on their part of the seat or of the plate facing away from the user being provided with fittings ( 60 ) which make it possible to fix the ends of the belt on the motor vehicle seat ( 55 ) or the plate ( 56 ) or to connect them to one another.

Emergency support as claimed in    claim 14    or    15   , wherein the vehicle seat in the cases in which the it is used as a whole as the solid structure of the rescue system, can be attached to the motor vehicle floor by means of quick-action closures and thus can be released without using tools.  
     
     
         17 . Emergency support as claimed in    claim 14    or    15   , wherein to rescue the vehicle seat there is a lifting frame ( 63 ) which has a block ( 62 ) with a tackle line ( 64 ) which is guided via the block ( 61 ) and on which the vehicle seat is suspended in its entirety.
