Device for forming expansion joints between covered floor or wall area sections
Abstract
A device for forming expansion joints between sections of covered floor or wall areas comprises two angle sections slidingly engaging each other parallel with the floor or wall surfaces. A first angle section comprises a fastening leg and a vertically-extending terminating leg. There are two legs on the terminating leg forming an outwardly-directed pocket. The pocket-forming legs are slidingly engaged by a sliding leg of the second angle section. The sliding leg extends from the top of the terminating leg of the second angle section, the terminating leg being molded on a fastening leg as well. The terminating leg of the first angle section has an approximately “S” shape, in which the upper part of the terminating leg forms the pocket-forming legs for receiving the sliding leg. The lower part of the terminating leg forms a chamber for receiving mortar.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A device for forming expansion or moving joints between covered floor or wall area sections, comprising:
a first angle section comprising a fastening leg and an approximately S-shaped terminating leg, an upper part of said terminating leg forming a pocket comprising two pocket-forming legs, said two pocket-forming legs being disposed vertically outwards in relation to the fastening leg of said angle section, and a lower part of the terminating leg of the first angle section forming a chamber which is open toward the fastening leg and adapted receive mortar filled between an adjoining floor or wall coating and the terminating leg to support the device; and a second angle section comprising a fastening leg, a terminating leg being molded vertically on the fastening leg, and a sliding leg extending vertically spaced from a top end of the terminating leg, said sliding leg slidingly engaging the pocket of the first angle section.
2 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the first angle section is a sheet metal section made of stainless steel, said sheet metal section being chamfered or rolled multiple times.
3 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the second angle section is a sheet metal section made of stainless steel chamfered or rolled multiple times, and wherein the sliding leg is molded onto an end of the terminating leg and is directed outwards in a curved manner and has a vertical offset (H) having the approximate thickness of one of the pocket-forming legs of the first angle section.
4 . The device according to claim 3 , wherein the an engaging portion of the sliding leg is formed by a double layer bent over by a defined area by about 180° and arranged abutting a remaining portion of said sliding leg.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
