Abstract

The present invention relates to a plasminogen activator inhibitor, an external preparation for skin comprising the same, a method for improving rough skin and in particular, to improvement of an effective inorganic component. A plasminogen activator inhibitor contains a specific zinc oxide which adsorbs a plasminogen activator and effectively inhibits its activity. When it is used as an external preparation for skin, excellent improvement of rough skin is obtainable. Further when silica-coated zinc oxide is applied as an external preparation for skin, excellent improvement effect and prevention effect for rough skin are obtainable without an intolerance sensitivity reaction in the case of morbid dermatitis such as atopic dermatitis.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A plasminogen activator inhibitor comprising zinc oxide which adsorbs a plasminogen activator and inhibits its activity.

2 . A plasminogen activator inhibitor as defined in claim 1 wherein said plasminogen activator inhibitor adsorbs a plasminogen activator with an adsorption rate of more than 60 percent per total amount and inhibits its activity with an inhibition rate of more than 60 percent per total amount, and said adsorption rate is measured by a method wherein after mixing 0.1 percent of a tested sample and 1 μg/ml of a single-chain urokinase in a buffer solution for a fixed time, the tested sample is taken away from the buffer solution, and an adsorption rate is determined by measuring the amount of a single-chain urokinase left in the buffer solution quantitatively by an ELISA method, and said inhibition rate is determined by measuring a decomposition activity for a synthetic substrate caused by a buffer solution comprising 0.1 percent of tested sample and 100 U/ml of an urokinase type plasminogen activator.

3 . A plasminogen activator inhibitor as defined in claim 2 wherein said plasminogen activator inhibitor adsorbs a plasminogen activator with an adsorption rate of 70 percent per total amount and inhibits its activity with an inhibition rate of 70 percent per total amount.

4 . A plasminogen activator inhibitor as defined in claim 1 wherein zinc oxide is coated by 0.1 to 70 weight percent of silica.

5 . An external preparation for rough skin comprising powder which adsorbs a plasminogen activator and inhibits its activity.

6 . An external preparation for rough skin comprising a plasminogen activator inhibitor defined in claim 1 .

7 . An external preparation for diseased skin comprising a plasminogen activator inhibitor defined in claim 4 .

8 . A method for restraining an activity of a plasminogen activator characterized by adsorbing a plasminogen activator on a powder and inhibiting its activity.

9 . A method for improving rough skin characterized by applying powder to skin which adsorbs a plasminogen activator and inhibits its activity.

10 . An external preparation for rough skin comprising zinc oxide.
